The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jane avoids the head kick by Jager.
Jane lands a left and a right that send Jager crashing to the mat, dazed. Jane thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Shan Jager has been cut. Jane connects with a stiff jab that staggers Jager - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carter somewhat. We've been told by Carter's head coaches at Roosters Coop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Carter shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carter gets slowly back to his feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. Still in the clinch, Johnson scores with a nice short uppercut. Johnson pushes Carter back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Johnson keeps control of Carter as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gold throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Almighty lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gold circles away quickly and effectively. Almighty throws a right and a left that Gold avoids nicely. Gold dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Almighty throws a head kick that misses and Gold counters with a straight right hand. Almighty fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gold manages to avoid it. Almighty throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gold let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Almighty looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Almighty shoots for a takedown but Gold saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Almighty shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Gold's coach down at Platinum MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gold's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Almighty is breathing heavily. Gold fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Almighty walks into a stiff left hand from Gold. Gold lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gold changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Gold lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Gold cracks Almighty with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Nice body punch from Gold. A big right followed by a crushing left from Gold knocks Almighty out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Danny Gold! During a confident post fight interview, Danny Gold thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. Rufus Almighty spoke after the fight, saying 'You all seem it !it was a eye poke! I just could not see BUT ILL BE BACK'.
