5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Michael! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lie misses with a double jab
and Michael counters with a shoot takedown. Lie fights it but they end up in guard. Michael stops Lie from standing up. Michael is stalling in the full guard. Michael pushing down on Lie's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Nice strikes from Michael there. Michael content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Michael slips a nice elbow through Lie's hands, connecting with Lie's forehead. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Michael stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lie is looking to escape. Michael decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Michael lands with a hook. Lie tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Lie looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Michael shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lie manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Lie being controlled here, momentarily. Lie knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Michael on the ground. Lie is wriggling around but Michael manages to pass to half guard.
Lie has hold of Michael's hands but Michael slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Michael decides to return to a standing position. The fight stays on the outside here - Lie looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Michael has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lie is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Michael manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Michael is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. This has been an exciting period of action! Michael escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Michael looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Michael prevents Lie from getting back to his feet. Lie trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Michael is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Lie keeping full guard, as Michael tries to pass. Michael is pushing down on Lie's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lie is fighting to maintain full guard but Michael has managed to sneak the leg through. Michael sitting and controlling from the half guard. Michael passes to side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Michael is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Lie's shoulder. That is not cool. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael lands a head kick. Lie smiles back at him and beckons him forward. A combination from Lie does no damage. Michael scores with a takedown into Lie's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lie tries to clinch but Michael moves away and Michael counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Lie gets caught napping as Michael dives in and scores a takedown. Lie manages to retain guard. Lie keeping full guard, as Michael tries to pass. Lie wants to stand up but Michael is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Michael passes Lie's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Michael is pressing down on Lie's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lie is holding on for now. Michael decides to stand and escape the position. Lie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lie tries to close the distance and clinch up but Michael swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lie misses with a series of wild punches.
Mike Lie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A momentary lapse in concentration from Lie enables Michael to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Michael lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Lie wants to stand up but Michael is controlling him. Lie wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Michael manages to pass to side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Michael looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Michael decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Lie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Left hook, right uppercut from Lie. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lie throws a combination that misses and Michael counters with a three punch combo that has Lie backing up. Lie nods at Michael to acknowledge the strikes. A punch combination from Lie misses. Michael lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Michael is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lie's half guard. Lie is trying to stand up here but Michael is controlling him well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Michael connects with a nice short shot to Lie's temple.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Michael in particular looking to stall. Michael lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Lie is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Michael scores with a couple of nice shots. Michael slows the pace down in half guard. Michael is trying for a kimura here. Lie looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Michael wins by kimura!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murazel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Polo throws a low kick but it's checked well by Murazel. Polo tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Murazel counters with a stiff right hand. Polo has managed to clinch.
Polo is trying to pull guard but Murazel turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Murazel taking a breather. Polo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Murazel uses from the top position. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Labed Murazel. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Murazel, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. I was talking to Maximov's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Silva is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

36 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Viacheslav Datsik! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Datsik moves away from the strike by Calderon. Datsik walks into a jab. Calderon misses the jab. Datsik moves out of range of the body kick. Calderon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Datsik is fending him off so far but Calderon persists. Nope, Datsik circles away and we're back to standing. Datsik defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Calderon. As Calderon backs off Datsik throws a huge counter combo but Calderon manages to avoid it all. Calderon throws a sloppy head kick and Datsik counters with a two punch combo. Datsik stalks Calderon and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Calderon's face. Calderon staggers backwards, shaken. Calderon throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Datsik steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Calderon. Felipe Calderon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Datsik fails to land with a series of punches.
This has been an exciting period of action! Calderon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Datsik counters with a lovely shot to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Felipe Calderon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Calderon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Datsik sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Calderon somewhat. Datsik lands a lovely overhand right.

and Datsik counters with a stiff right hand. Datsik cracks a nice hook into Calderon's ribs. Datsik fakes the leg kick and cracks Calderon in the body. Datsik connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Calderon has his takedown stuffed and Datsik holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Datsik working some nice short punches in the clinch. Calderon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Datsik gets through Calderon's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Datsik lands a nice uppercut. Calderon tries to pull guard but Datsik forces him back to his feet, against the cage. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Datsik creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. A head punch blocked on the inside by Calderon. Calderon takes an elbow to the forehead. Calderon dodges an elbow strike from Datsik.
Calderon goes for a takedown in the clinch but Datsik prevents it.
Calderon manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Datsik showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Datsik avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Datsik is looking to stand up but Calderon won't let him. Calderon looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Datsik puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. We've been informed that Datsik has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Calderon actively working from the bottom here. Calderon is trying to get back to full guard. Datsik wants to free his trapped foot but Calderon is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Datsik prevents Calderon from improving his position. Calderon actively working from the bottom here. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Calderon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Calderon looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Calderon wants to control but Datsik is keeping busy.
Calderon looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Datsik pushes past his half guard into mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Datsik lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Calderon darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Calderon needs to keep his hands up - Datsik had a free shot at his head there. Calderon shoots in for a takedown but Datsik shows good takedown defense. Datsik has been the more effective fighter overall so far. No joy there for Datsik, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Calderon drops down looking for a counter takedown but Datsik sprawls and moves away. Calderon throws a head kick that misses. Datsik throws a right hand that Calderon ducks under and follows up with a left that Calderon also avoids with ease. Datsik swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Calderon shoots for a takedown but Datsik saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Datsik unleashes a big counter combination but Calderon bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Calderon fails with the takedown and Datsik connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Felipe Calderon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice takedown defense from Datsik. No joy for Calderon on that attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Datsik tries to bum rush Calderon with a series of wild strikes but Calderon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's one minute gone in the round. Datsik bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Calderon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Datsik throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Calderon stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Viacheslav Datsik is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Datsik feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Calderons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Datsik looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Calderon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Datsik's waist but Datsik gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Calderon off to one side. Calderon walks into a jab. Datsik digs a good body shot into Calderon's ribs. Calderon throws a poor cross that misses
and Datsik counters by moving into the clinch. Nice body punch from Datsik. Calderon managing to block the knees to the body from Datsik.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Calderon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A little jabbing left from Datsik on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pichushkin takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Pichushkin with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Belenus to score with a decent uppercut. Belenus ducks under a wild hook from Pichushkin. It looked like Belenus was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Belenus has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Slaughterhouse - LOD in the buildup to the fight. Belenus slips a jab and a cross from Pichushkin.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. A nice right hand lands inside from Belenus. Belenus unloads a knee to the mid-section. Belenus pulls guard successfully.

Belenus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pichushkin is aware though and is defending well. Belenus bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pichushkin's guard. Belenus wants to pass the guard but Pichushkin is keeping the position. Pichushkin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Belenus defends it easily. Pichushkin wants to control position but Belenus is using a can opener to pass guard... He's turned it into a full on guillotine from mount now! Big trouble for Pichushkin here! He's turning a lovely shade of purple and yep! He's tapping out! I would say world class Jiu Jitsu but is it really? It was nice but let's not get silly about it.
