On his way into the cage it seems that Durgel Sanders has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Durgel Sanders seems to be OK! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanders just misses with a punch to the body.
Sanders shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hansen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sanders, pushing him back against the cage. Hansen jumps guard but Sanders stands there with Hansen around his waist. Hansen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hansen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Sanders scores with a sloppy right hand. Hansen should have avoided that one. Hansen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sanders.
Sanders shoots for a double leg takedown but Hansen sprawls well. He's pushed Sanders's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A jab from Sanders misses. Hansen tries to clinch up. Sanders throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hansen on the side of the head. Sanders lands a nice shot to the body.
Sanders shoots in looking for a takedown. Hansen tries to sprawl out of it but Sanders keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hansen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Durgel Sanders. Sanders fails with a takedown attempt. Hansen walks into a left hand. Hansen throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sanders slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Sanders lands with a straight right. Hansen didn't see that one coming. Sanders fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hansen manages to avoid it. Sanders cracks Hansen with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Sanders showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hansen.
Sanders throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Hansen looks gassed! Sanders scores with a jab to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A shot to de liver by Sanders. Beautiful body shot. Sanders lands a nice looking body shot.
Hansen closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Nice jab there from Sanders. Sanders throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Sanders throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hansen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Sanders swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sanders lunges at Hansen with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hansen's hand. Sanders with a body punch. A glancing blow. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nice shot lands for Sanders. Sanders lands the left hand. Sanders shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sanders was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hansen tries to get back to half guard but can't. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sanders wants to control the pace but Hansen is squirming around nicely. Sanders is working for a guillotine from mount but Hansen frees his head quite easily.
Sanders takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sanders throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hansen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Sanders lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hansen at a distance.

Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Hansen wants to stand up but Sanders is controlling him. Hansen can't keep his opponent in guard - Sanders advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Sanders is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hansen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sanders. Sanders is looking to take a break and control but Hansen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hansen is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanders wants to work for an arm triangle but Hansen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Sanders works his way into full mount! Hansen has left one of his arms exposed and Sanders doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Hansen screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
