That's three minutes gone in the round. Medeiros avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've been told by Abrams's head coaches at Turka Elite Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Abrams lands a big head kick that sends Medeiros to the canvas! Abrams follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Taite Abrams! Taite Abrams retains his light heavyweight title! Our winner, Taite Abrams, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
