The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith rushes Inn and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Inn gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Smith keeping moving, preventing Inn from controlling successfully.
Smith is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Inn wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.
Inn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Inn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Inn slips nicely into half guard.
Smith felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Inn wants to pass to mount but Smith is defending the position.

Smith is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Inn defends well.
Inn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Inn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smith to the mat! Smith manages to get full guard.

Inn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smith has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Inn has managed to get both his arms back between Smith's legs - danger averted.

Inn working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Smith's head.
Inn postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Smith wants to stand but Inn is controlling the position.
Inn slips nicely into half guard.

Inn is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Smith has managed to free his arm - good work.
Inn is trying to control. Smith wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Inn throwing shots but Smith is blocking nicely.

Smith preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Smith moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Smith utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Smith looking for a guillotine here but Inn defends easily.
Inn throws a strike but Smith rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Inn is wriggling around trying to escape.
All Inn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Smith trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Inn tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Smith cracks Inn with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Inn is bucking up trying to escape but Smith cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Smith lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Inn! Smith sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Inn and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

Hearns's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Boets tries to pull guard but Hearns won't allow it.
Hearns pulls back and lands a big elbow that stuns Boets! Hearns unloads with more strikes and Boets sinks to his knees! This one is all over!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Doomsday Drost.
I think Burns Jr has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
