The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ya shoots in for a takedown but Zulu shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ya slips a straight right by Zulu. Zulu closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Ya is trying to control Zulu's posture but Zulu avoids it. Zulu swings around for an armbar but Ya sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Zulu's guard. Ya content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Zulu bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ya's guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Zulu working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ya's head. Zulu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ya swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Zulu trying to control but Ya is working from the bottom. Zulu must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daishonin ducks under a wild hook from Muchada. Muchada is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Daishonin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Daishonin lands in his opponent's guard. Muchada is trying to keep Daishonin in close.
Daishonin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Daishonin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Muchada pushes Daishonin off and gets back to his feet.
