The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates is looking to land body kicks.
Dettman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bates sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bates shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Bates forces Dettman back against the cage and clinches.
Bates is trying to break free.

Dettman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bates misses with a low kick.
Bates tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dettman was well out of range. Poor timing from Bates.
Bates stalks Dettman and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dettman's face. Dettman staggers backwards, shaken.
Bates rushes Dettman with punches - Dettman moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Dettman goes down! Bates follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Simon Bates opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
