1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Costner! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Costner moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Zachary Abrams has been cut. Abrams throws a leg kick that misses. Abrams looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Abrams showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Costner.
Abrams tries to clinch there but Costner circles away.
Costner lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Abrams takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Costner clobbers Abrams with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Abrams looks to land a body kick but Costner moved away. Costner bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Abrams's head. Costner scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Abrams shoots for a takedown but Costner saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Costner slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Abrams throws a low kick but Costner avoids it. Costner appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Abrams has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Costner scores with a jab to the jaw. Abrams gets a clinch. Costner stalling in the clinch but Abrams improves position. Abrams manages to break the clinch.
Abrams rushes Costner and presses him up against the cage. Costner blocking some punches.
Costner blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Abrams prevents Costner from breaking the clinch. A bit of stalling here from Abrams.
Costner has Abrams pushed against the cage. Costner is trying to break free.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Costner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Abrams swings for the body but Costner moves out of range.
Despite the aggression on Costner's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Abrams tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Costner is able to avoid easily. Abrams pivots, looking for a leg kick but Costner is out of range and Abrams settles back down. Abrams throws a leg kick but Costner sees it coming and moves out of range. A lazy left from Costner finds it's target. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Abrams wants to clinch but Costner slips to the side and Costner counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Costner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Abrams moves out of range and avoids them all easily. As Costner tries to get set, Abrams tries to push him back and clinch up but Costner manages to avoid the attempt. Abrams looks for the body kick but Costner saw that one coming. Costner looks like he wants to counter punch here. Abrams takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice uppercut there from Costner. Abrams finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Costner swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Costner throws a series of punches but Abrams moves out of range. Abrams wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Abrams walks into a stiff left hand from Costner. Costner shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Abrams eats them both and turns towards Costner to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Abrams tries to clinch but Costner moves out of range. Abrams keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Costner. Abrams takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Costner keeps the fight on the outside. Costner avoids the body shot from Abrams.
Abrams swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Abrams or perhaps it was just good defense by Costner, which made it look bad. Abrams takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Abrams motions for Costner to come forward. Abrams throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Abrams tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Costner counters with a straight right hand. Costner avoids the body shot from Abrams.
Kevin Costner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Costner avoids the body shot from Abrams.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kevin Costner dominated that round. The cut man is working on Zachary Abrams's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Costner changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Costner's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Costner duly obliges. Costner cracks Abrams with an open hand slap. Costner has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Abrams misses with a body shot.
Abrams throws a lazy right hand but Costner sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Costner lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Costner lands with a straight right. Abrams didn't see that one coming.
Abrams is rocked! Costner drops Abrams with a big left hand! Abrams is injured, injured bad! Costner jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dassler throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Petrosyan's waist but Petrosyan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dassler off to one side. Dassler gets tackled into the cage by Petrosyan. Petrosyan maintains the clinch. Dassler has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Petrosyan uses from the top position. Petrosyan is posturing up here but Dassler has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Petrosyan tries to roll out but it's too tight and Petrosyan has to tap! Slick submission there by Dassler!

Maryman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wessel swats him away and circles back towards the center. Wessel scores with a nice body kick.
Wessel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Peter Wessel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wessel turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A thudding body kick lands there by Wessel!

That's one minute gone in the round. Maryman moves out of range of the strikes. Maryman throws a big counter combination but Wessel scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Wessel throws a leg kick that is checked and Maryman counters by moving into the clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Wessel. A quick uppercut on the inside from Maryman. Maryman doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Maryman lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Maryman scores with an uppercut up the middle. Maryman lands a shoulder strike. Maryman lands a hook to the side of the head.

That has opened up Peter Wessel's cut even more. Maryman lands with a left to the head. Wessel is still on wobbly legs! Can Maryman finish him?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maryman lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Wessel. Wessel seems to have recovered his senses. A short right hand to the side of the head by Maryman. Maryman works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Maryman is leaning against Wessel and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Maryman lands a hook that snaps the head of Wessel backwards. Wessel's coach down at Tosen's Home For Lost Boys was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Wessel's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Maryman unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Wessel! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Maryman is unloading with more strikes now! Wessel drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Alborov sends Kohler crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Alborov is motioning to the referee to let Kohler up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Kohler is looking to close the distance but Alborov sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Kohler crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Kohler is OK because that was naaaaaasty!

A relieved looking Irbek Alborov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. It looks like Cristóbal Contreras has been cut. We've been informed that Contreras has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Gatsalov misses with a hook. Gatsalov misses with a hook. Contreras ducked under it nicely. A cross from Gatsalov lands. Donk. Contreras catches Gatsalov right on the button with a cross. Contreras lands with a kick to the ribs.

Contreras dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gatsalov. That did some damage! Gatsalov drops his hands momentarily and Contreras takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Gatsalov lands a nice hook to Contreras's body. Contreras takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Gatsalov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Gatsalov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. A nice leg kick lands there from Contreras. Gatsalov lands a jab to the head.
Gatsalov misses with a hook. Contreras is looking to slow Gatsalov down with leg kicks. Contreras throws a shot from downtown. Gatsalov moves away and avoids it. Gatsalov lands the left hand. Contreras moves away from the strike by Gatsalov. Gatsalov lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Contreras at a distance.
Gatsalov keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
That has opened up Cristóbal Contreras's cut even more. Gatsalov tries to clinch but Contreras moves out of range. Gatsalov throws a shot from downtown. Contreras moves away and avoids it. Gatsalov throws a body shot but no joy. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gatsalov clinches. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Contreras.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Contreras is pushing Gatsalov up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Contreras controlling the action here for a moment.

Both guys are working to get underhooks. Maybe Gatsalov would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much. Contreras slowing the pace effectively. Contreras breaks from the clinch.
Gatsalov looks to throw the jab but Contreras is out of range. Contreras throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Gatsalov is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Contreras is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gatsalov. Gatsalov swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. The crowd cheers as Gatsalov lands an impressive looking overhand right. Contreras doesn't seem phased though. Contreras avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Gatsalov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed right hand from Gatsalov misses the target. An inside leg kick lands from Contreras. Contreras plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Kosta Gatsalov has been cut. Contreras missing with a left hand there. Gatsalov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Nice defenses there by Contreras. Contreras lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gatsalov's sensitive parts. Contreras throws a leg kick and Gatsalov counters with a nice uppercut.
The cut above Cristóbal Contreras's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Contreras keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
It seemed like Contreras was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Gatsalov misses the jab. Contreras throws the left hand but Gatsalov avoids the punch easily. Gatsalov takes a swing at Contreras's ribcage but misses. Contreras connects with an inside leg kick. Contreras slips under a jab. Gatsalov blocks the body kick.
Gatsalov was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Gatsalov moves into range and connects with a jab. Gatsalov waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Contreras.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Contreras fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. A slow jab from Gatsalov misses its intended target. A slapping leg kick lands for Contreras.
Contreras tries to work over Gatsalov's front leg with a kick but Gatsalov checks it. A telegraphed right hand from Gatsalov misses the target. Contreras ducks under a wild hook from Gatsalov. Contreras with a nice cross. Contreras clinches up against the cage. Contreras wants to get back to striking at distance but Gatsalov won't allow it.
Contreras is trying to maintain a safe position but Gatsalov gets an underhook and turns Contreras into the cage. Nice body punch from Gatsalov. Contreras effectively controlling the action here. Gatsalov works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Gatsalov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kosta Gatsalov will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Back to the action!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hershel tries to land a body kick and Stiglitz counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Stiglitz lands a nice short elbow. Stiglitz thows a huge punch but Hershel dodges it nicely.

And Fosse tries to counter it with a takedown but Runner pushes his down on his head and steps out. Runner pivots, looking for a leg kick but Fosse is out of range and Runner settles back down. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Fosse has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
