The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grylls tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kiiruna scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Grylls misses with a straight left. Kiiruna throws a shot to the body.
Kiiruna dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Kiiruna clinches up with Grylls and pushes him back against the cage. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Kiiruna. Kiiruna blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eccles throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Queen doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Queen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Eccles doesn't succeed with the takedown and Queen counters with a body kick. Eccles wants to clinch up but Queen keeps it at a distance. Phil Eccles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Eccles shoots for a takedown but Queen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Teeri fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gengala. Gengala tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Teeri tries to clinch up. Gengala keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Teeri. Gengala fails with a takedown attempt. Gengala circles away from the clinch attempt.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alsop stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Janus shoots in and gets a takedown into Alsop's guard. Janus drops back looking for a leg! Alsop is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Alsop manages to kick Janus off! Janus jumps back into Alsop's guard. Janus wants to control from the top but Alsop keeps moving. Alsop looking for a guillotine here but Janus defends easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alsop looking to hit a scissor sweep but Janus is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Janus controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Alsop looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Alsop keeping moving, preventing Janus from controlling successfully. Alsop trying to keep a closed guard but Janus is proving a slippery customer.
Janus is pushing down on Alsop's leg trying to pass to half guard. Alsop is fighting to maintain full guard but Janus has managed to sneak the leg through. Alsop tries to roll over but Janus keeps him under control. Janus is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Alsop doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Janus. Alsop is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Janus pulls his head out easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Janus is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alsop is just riding it out for now. Janus eventually gives up the hold. Alsop wants to get back to full guard. Alsop trying to control here.

Janus is trying to control. Alsop wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The fighters are battling for position here. Alsop manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Alsop looking for a guillotine here but Janus defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Janus tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Alsop manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Alsop seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Janus does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Alsop is working for a kimura but Janus is defending it quite comfortably.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Janus trying to control from the bottom.

That was a close round but I would say that Hugh Janus will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Janus shoots in and drives through. Alsop sprawls well. Alsop tries to clinch and Janus counters with a nice double leg into guard. Alsop is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Janus is working hard here to advance position. Janus trying to control the position from guard on top but Alsop is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alsop looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Janus is defending well. Alsop quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Janus has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Alsop celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
