 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whitaker Jr avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Yee lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Yee might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Hale fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Yee checks it well. We've been informed that Yee has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Yee fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hale manages to avoid it. No joy there for Yee, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hale lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Nice jab there from Hale. Yee thows a left - swing and a miss! Yee connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Hale drops his hands momentarily and Yee takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Yee tries to clinch up. Yee uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hale.

A quick step to the side and Hale tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Hale lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Hale connects with a right that clearly hurt Yee. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Hale proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Yee collapses and taps out under the pressure!

George has hold of one of Castro's legs. Castro is fighting the takedown attempt but George gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. George wants to pass the guard but Castro is keeping the position. George throws a big right hand that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
George drops back, looking for a kneebar! Castro looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Castro looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Castro!
Castro is looking to take a break and control but George is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. George is trying to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on George's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. George can't do much from the bottom here. George is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. George is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Castro's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Castro's back! Castro avoids the strikes from George.
George has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
George is cranking Castro's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Castro! He's tightened the choke and Castro is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Furious George! After winning the bout, Furious George thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
