The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riniec closes the distance and clinches up with Carmichael, looking for a takedown. Riniec pushes Carmichael against the cage but Carmichael circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

It looked like Carmichael was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mir accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hetfield changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mir tries to avoid it but Hetfield manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mir to the ground. Mir escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mir tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Hetfield closes the distance and clinches up with Mir, looking for a takedown. Hetfield pushes Mir against the cage but Mir circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Hetfield. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mir dives in and grabs Hetfield's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hetfield pushes down on Mir's head and hops out.

Well Mir has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

We've been hearing reports that Shatterstone has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Shatterstone has control of Toad's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Toad regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Shatterstone is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Shatterstone!

Mauler sizes up Dixon with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Mauler bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Mauler dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dixon. That did some damage!
