Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre Letang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Timothy Boult! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boult gets tackled into the cage by Letang. Letang maintains the clinch. The referee calls for Letang to work.
Letang is pressed up against the cage. Boult has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Letang down to the mat. Letang avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Boult throws a body shot but no joy. Letang went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Boult scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Letang on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Decent striking displayed by Boult there. Boult connects with a jab. Boult scores with the left hand. Letang knows he should have avoided that one. Letang looks to land a combination. Boult sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice uppercut lands for Boult. That snapped Letang's head back.
Letang misses with a jab, cross combination.
Letang takes one to the chin there. Boult has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Boult lands with a shot to the body. We've been hearing reports that Letang has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Letang swings widly with a right hand
and Boult counters with a lovely straight right hand! Letang shoots in for a takedown but Boult shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. A shot to the liver by Boult. Beautiful body shot. Letang missing with a left hand there. Boult was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Letang misses with a takedown attempt and Boult counters with a lovely straight right hand! Letang throws a right and a left that Boult avoids nicely. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Boult! But no joy. Letang walks into a jab. Boult thuds his right hand into Letang's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Boult misses with a two punch combination.
Boult darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Letang is rocked! Letang leaves his chin hanging out and Boult seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Letang crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Timothy Boult! During a confident post fight interview, Timothy Boult thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silvardo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Miranda.
Miranda drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silvardo tries to buck Miranda off but Miranda is having none of it. Silvardo is working hard here to advance position. Silvardo is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Rape Academy, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Miranda working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miranda wants to stand but Silvardo is controlling his arm. Silvardo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Miranda wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Miranda looks up at the clock and then as Silvardo takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Miranda smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Silvardo is trying to get back to half guard. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Miranda working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miranda is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Silvardo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Silvardo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Miranda wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Miranda throws a strike aimed at the side of Silvardo's head but Silvardo avoids it well. Miranda misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Silvardo is looking for a sweep. Silvardo gets back to half guard. Silvardo wants to control but Miranda is keeping busy.
Miranda thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Silvardo's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miranda is working for a kimura but Silvardo is defending it quite comfortably.
Miranda really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silvardo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Silvardo is refusing to be controlled, as Miranda sits in half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Silvardo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Silvardo working for a triangle but Miranda defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silvardo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Miranda defends it easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miranda loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Miranda is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Silvardo has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Miranda is looking to defend but Silvardo has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Miranda! Silvardo pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Miranda taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ranaroldo Silvardo! In his post fight interview, Ranaroldo Silvardo gave a big smile as he said 'You know he a very tough guy you know but he no get the positch and usa too much of da straintch!'.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Holzken takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Perfo moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Perfo with a body punch. A glancing blow. Perfo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Perfo throws a leg kick and Holzken counters with a single leg into guard. Perfo didn't expect that. Holzken pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Perfo is keeping the position for now. Holzken passes Perfo's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Perfo is not content to let Holzken control the position. Holzken takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Holzken is looking for a kimura here.

Holzken is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Perfo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Holzken. Holzken looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Holzken passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Perfo!

Holzken looking to control but Perfo is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Holzken is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Perfo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Holzken has got one arm under Perfo's chin. This could be trouble... Perfo trying to control the other hand but Holzken gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Perfo has tapped out! The fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jermaine sprawls well. Jermaine wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Santos gets slowly back to his feet. Santos throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jermaine counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Santos is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jermaine slows the pace down in half guard. Jermaine looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Let's hope that Jermaine has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That was a very nice submission by Santos.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Thiago Santos! Thiago Santos spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Washington shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Washington lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Zaromskis gets in close and instigates a clinch. Washington has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Zaromskis after a bit of a struggle. Zaromskis works on Washington's body with a couple of short punches. Washington's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Zaromskis taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Zaromskis lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Zaromskis lands a shoulder strike. Zaromskis holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Zaromskis lands a nice shot to the body. Washington looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. A nice left hand lands by Zaromskis.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Washington tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Washington is trying to break the clinch but Zaromskis is controlling him. Zaromskis throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Washingtons head. Zaromskis lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Washington is rocked! Zaromskis creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Washington with a big uppercut! Washington tries to clinch up but Zaromskis pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Washington to the mat! Washington covers up and Zaromskis unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frost comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Lee has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Frost is landing a low percentage of strikes. Frost lunges at Lee with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Lee's hand. Frost fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lee looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Lee takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Nice cross by Frost. Frost comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Frost scores with a punch to the head.
Lee is rocked! Frost ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Lee's jaw. Lee's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Frost does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Walter Frost! Walter Frost bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tillion has his takedown stuffed enabling Polo to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Jared Tillion has been cut. Tillion instigates a clinch. Polo is looking to control Tillion's arms but Tillion gets an underhook and turns him. Now Polo has his back to the cage. Tillion looking to throw knees to the head but Polo is blocking nicely.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barbu misses the shot to the body. Barbu lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rodelin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Rodelin trying to control the action but Barbu is working from the bottom. Barbu is looking to reverse the position. Barbu can't do much from the bottom here. Rodelin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Barbu is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rodelin wants to control but Barbu is keeping him busy.

He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Rodelin is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Rodelin postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Barbu is looking for a triangle but Rodelin pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Rodelin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Rodelin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barbu is one step ahead there. Rodelin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Barbu's guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Rodelin checks a leg kick. Rodelin with a poor takedown and Barbu counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Barbu throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rodelin. Rodelin shoots in looking for a takedown. Barbu tries to sprawl out of it but Rodelin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Barbu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Barbu fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rodelin. Rodelin fails with a takedown attempt. Benjamin Barbu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Rodelin.

Barbu takes a swing at Rodelin's ribcage but misses. Rodelin takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Barbu works Rodelin's body with a nice hook. Rodelin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barbu sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rodelin somewhat. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Barbu, as that shot connected.

Spitts's coach down at Thunder MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Spitts's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Spitts pulls out of a head kick attempt.

White slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. White smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Spitts connects with a single shot there. White works the jab nicely. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A head kick by Spitts misses and White counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Spitts circles away from the clinch attempt.
