Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rey Solo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carus Dall! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Solo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Solo lands in his opponent's guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dall is on top in guard.
Dall drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dall jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Dall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Solo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dall looking to pass the guard. Solo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dall defends it easily. Solo has his feet on Dall's thighs here. He's pushed Dall off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Dall screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Friman lands with a right hand. Friman works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Friman scores with a jab to the jaw. Friman scores with a jab to the body. Friman dips to his left and cracks Ashton with an uppercut! Friman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ashton takes one to the chin there. Friman bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ashton's head backwards. Friman connects with a crisp jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Friman connects with a jab. Ashton takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Friman throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
so Ashton counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Friman looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Friman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ashton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Friman wants to sweep but no luck. Friman keeping moving, preventing Ashton from controlling successfully. Ashton passes easily into side control. Nice work. Ashton content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Ashton's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ashton scoring with punches and elbows. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Ashton in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ashton lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Friman dodges the ground and pound from Ashton. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Friman can do anything to dispel that myth. Ashton connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Friman some visible discomfort.
Ashton lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Friman down.
This has been an exciting period of action! Friman is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Ashton is chipping away with strikes.
Friman takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Friman takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Friman is rocked! Ashton scores with punches from side control. Friman is still in real trouble! Can Ashton finish him? Ashton landing a few strikes. Friman looks winded! Ashton cracks Friman with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Ashton immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Friman is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Ashton!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eric Ashton! Eric Ashton tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
