The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado avoids the head kick by Preuss.
Machado drops down looking for a counter takedown but Preuss sprawls and moves away.
Preuss connects with a leg kick. Machado looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Preuss gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Preuss breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Preuss tries to close the distance and clinch but Machado swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Machado shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Preuss but Preuss pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Preuss throws a counter combo.

Machado dives in and scores a takedown into Preuss's guard.
Machado trying to control but Preuss is working from the bottom.
Machado advances position into side control!

Machado has hold of Preuss's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Preuss tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Machado cranks the arm and Preuss screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Preuss, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
