Jones has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both these guys have really solid chins. Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Palmz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Palmz is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Jones is tapping! Great win for Palmz!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kamil drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

It looks like Krzysiek Kamil has been cut.
Gracie wants to clinch.

Kamil closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gracie quickly recovers to half guard.
Gracie is looking to control Kamil's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gracie avoid being mounted?
Gracie regains full guard. Nicely done.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kamil stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gracie holds on and takes a little breather.
Gracie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kamil is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kamil gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gracie is looking to cinch up a triangle. Kamil throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gracie's body to avoid the submission. Gracie has instead reached around Kamil's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gracie arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ryan Gracie decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Sleeper is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Messinger had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Moore jerks Costa's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Costa drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Moore goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Moore because Costa was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
