The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Munanaposa feints and as Cherry raises his hands in defense, Munanaposa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Munanaposa in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Cherry looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Cherry is trying to control the position but Munanaposa postures up. Munanaposa content to stall in guard here. Munanaposa lands a couple of elbows. Cherry trying to control the position.
Munanaposa scoring with some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Munanaposa controls from within his opponent's guard. Munanaposa stopping the sweep attempt from Cherry.

Cherry might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Cherry postures up in Munanaposa's guard and throws a big left but Munanaposa blocks it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Munanaposa is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Cherry throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A countering left hand to the body from Munanaposa misses. Munanaposa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cherry is fending him off so far but Munanaposa persists. Nope, Cherry circles away and we're back to standing. Cherry throws a right hand that Munanaposa ducks under and follows up with a left that Munanaposa also avoids with ease. Munanaposa gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cherry to score an easy takedown into full guard. Cherry trying to control the position from guard on top but Munanaposa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cherry working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Cherry manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Munanaposa looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cherry is one step ahead there. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cherry connects with a nice short shot to Munanaposa's temple. Cherry landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Munanaposa flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Cherry looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Munanaposa wants to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Munanaposa landing rabbit punches to the side of Cherry's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points. Cherry blocks the strikes from Munanaposa.

Lee shoots in looking for a takedown but Hatfield manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lee's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Lee shoots in for a takedown but Hatfield shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. It looked like Hatfield was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Hatfield lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Freddy Lee has been cut. Lee shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Devil Anse Hatfield has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddy Lee. Hatfield fails to land with a series of punches.
Hatfield looks to land a left hand but Lee moved out of range nicely. Oooooh!!! Hatfield has knocked Lee down with a huge combo! Hatfield steps away and waves a wobbly Lee back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Lee is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hatfield catches Lee with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Lee forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pitakaka throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Suri counters with a nice uppercut. Pitakaka throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Suri throws a front kick aimed at Pitakaka's knee but Pitakaka avoids it well.

Suri lunges at Pitakaka with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pitakaka's hand. Pitakaka gets off balance looking for a body kick and Suri counters with a lovely shot to the body. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Suri thows a leg kick but Pitakaka checks it and Pitakaka counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Nice body kick there by Suri. Pitakaka looks winded! Pitakaka tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Suri is able to avoid easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
