The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Mendez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Junior defends well and Mendez ends up having to push Junior into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Mendez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mendez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Junior did well to prevent Mendez getting side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Junior tries to get to full guard but Mendez has control of the leg. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mendez is trying to work for a kimura but Junior is defending well.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bearowsky is trying hard to land a takedown here. Clavette sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Clavette scores with the left hand. Bearowsky knows he should have avoided that one. Bearowsky tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Clavette defends well and Bearowsky ends up having to push Clavette into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Clavette lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Jack Bearowsky has been cut. Bearowsky fails with the takedown and Clavette counters with a huge left! Bearowsky is in big trouble! He's backing up but Clavette isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Bearowsky from any more damage. A dominating finish by Clavette!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roger moves into range and clinches up with Iverson. Iverson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Roger after a bit of a struggle. Roger can't find room to land a body shot as Iverson controls the action.
Roger scores with an uppercut up the middle.
It looks like George Iverson has been cut. Roger throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Iversons head. Roger lands a damaging elbow. Iverson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Roger pulls him back up using the underhooks. Roger throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Roger connects with a nasty looking knee right to Iverson's face.
Iverson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Roger pushes off an throws an elbow but Iverson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Iverson blocks a body shot from Roger. Iverson tries to score a body lock takedown but Roger shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Dean Roger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Iverson. Roger landing knees to the head.

Roger throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Iverson blocks it with crossed arms. Iverson has Roger pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Roger manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Roger will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Iverson up against the cage. Roger stalling the fight.
Roger throws a knee to the head but misses.
Iverson's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Roger is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Iverson is defending well for now. Roger lands an uppercut.
That has opened up George Iverson's cut even more.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roger pushes Iverson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Roger drops Iverson onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Iverson is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Iverson is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Roger is looking to land a big knee to finish this one. He's got control of the head and as Iverson tries to break Roger's hands from around his neck, Roger unloads with that fight ending knee, right up the middle! Oh man, that was nasty! Iverson will need to get back to the training room and learn how to defend against the thai clinch! Oooh, his nose is a mess. Hopefully it's not broken.

Maza pushes Wates up against the cage in a clinch. Wates being controlled against the cage. Wates gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Maza.
Maza drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wates gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Wates trying to control but Maza is working from the bottom. Wates stands and steps away. Maza gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Maza closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wates circles away. Maza will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Maza looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wates is fending him off so far but Maza persists. Nope, Wates circles away and we're back to standing. Wates rushes Maza and presses him up against the cage.

Maza won't allow Wates to sweep him here. Wates has his hands on Maza's head, controlling the position. Wates bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Maza's guard. Wates passes Maza's left leg - he's now in half guard. Wates looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Maza wants to control but Wates is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Wates is looking for a kimura but Maza is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wates to get the leverage. Maza controlling the position for now. Maza makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Maza. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wates in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wates has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Maza is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Juan Pablo Maza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Wates.

Wates controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Wates postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Wates not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Wates scoring with some ground and pound. Wates has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Wates trying to control but Maza is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wates controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Maza working a defensive guard here.
Wates not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wates throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Juan Pablo Maza will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wates accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maza has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wates can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Wates is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wates keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Maza's head. Wates distracts Maza with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Maza is rocked! Maza being controlled here, momentarily. Oh Maza is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Maza has Wates pulled in close to control his posture. Maza looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Maza seems to have got his legs back now. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Maza wants to improve his position but instead Wates has moved into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Wates working over Maza with some ground and pound. Maza looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Wates is trying to control. Maza wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Wates scoring with strikes to the body and head. Wates scores with a big shot! Maza's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Maza! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Gates tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rasmussen smiles and moves away.

Gates tries to move into full mount but can't pass Rasmussen's legs. Gates is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rasmussen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Jim Gates overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rasmussen parries the strikes from Gates easily there. Gates is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rasmussen to escape.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jim Gates will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Rasmussen takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Gates walks forward, straight into a front kick from Rasmussen. Gates throws a sloppy head kick and Rasmussen moves out of range easily. Gates throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rasmussen looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Gates closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Rasmussen is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Gates is controlling him well. Gates wants to control but Rasmussen is keeping him busy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gates lands a nice forearm strike. Rasmussen is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rasmussen is wriggling around trying to escape but Gates has hooked up a rear naked choke! Is it over??? Is it... you're damn right it is! Rasmussen taps out and Gates picks up the big win! Great work there by Gates!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shin thuds his right hand into Amagov's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
It looks like Adlan Amagov has been cut. Amagov takes a kick to the side of the head. Shin scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Shin closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Shin gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. A short right from Shin on the inside. Amagov misses with some punches.

Amagov is looking to control Shin's arms but Shin gets an underhook and turns him. Now Amagov has his back to the cage. Shin tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Amagov avoids it. Shin lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Shin is leaning against Amagov and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
