The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baasch takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Kilkenny has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Montreal Fighter's Gym (4.5* Sparring) in the buildup to the fight.

Baasch moves into the clinch.
Kilkenny misses with a short punch on the inside.
Kilkenny is looking to break free of the clinch but Baasch has double underhooks.
Baasch drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Baasch blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Baasch is working for takedown but Kilkenny is calmly controlling the position for now.

Baasch escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Baasch looks to land a combination but Kilkenny avoids it well.
Kilkenny lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Baasch circles away quickly and effectively.
Baasch gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kilkenny counters with a nice uppercut.
Lance Kilkenny has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Caius Baasch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Baasch is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Baasch changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kilkenny tries to avoid it but Baasch manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kilkenny to the ground. Kilkenny escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kilkenny looks to score with a jab to the body but Baasch is just out of range.

Baasch fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kilkenny avoids it really well and circles away.

Kennedy blocks a head kick by Kreiss.
Kreiss throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kennedy's waist but Kennedy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kreiss off to one side.

Kreiss tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kennedy swivels and escapes.

Well Kreiss has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Habel throws a quick counter kick to the body but Vazquez avoids it.
Vazquez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Vazquez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Habel manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Vazquez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Habel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Habel working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vazquez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vazquez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Vazquez has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Habel to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Vazquez is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Habel pulls down on the head and he's put Vazquez to sleep! This one is all over!

Gentry throws an overhand right that lands on Pastrnak's shoulder, as Pastrnak tries to avoid the shot.

Pastrnak shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Pastrnak takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
