Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

28 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Constantine Titanus! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Steve Erwin and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Titanus tries to keep at a distance but Singh has taken the fight into the clinch. Titanus will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Singh up against the cage. Knees to the body from Titanus.
Titanus is struggling to control the position. A short left from Titanus. Titanus tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Singh's elbow. Titanus can't find room to land a body shot as Singh controls the action.
Titanus lands a right hand. The referee is keeping an eye on Titanus - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Titanus's coach down at Guinness Stout was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Titanus's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Titanus dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Titanus tries to work over Singh's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Singh has a couple of punches blocked by Titanus.
That's one minute gone in the round. Singh throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Titanuss head. Titanus's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Titanus is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Singh is keeping busy. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Constantine Titanus. Good exchange - Singh coming out on top.
It looks like Constantine Titanus has been cut. A nice leg kick lands there from Singh. Singh misses with a wild combination.
Singh tries to clinch but fails miserably and Titanus counters with a nice uppercut. Constantine Titanus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Singh moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Singh misses with a jab to the body
and Titanus counters with a flying knee. Nice. Singh tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A looping hook to the body misses from Titanus. Singh does a little dance to reset his feet. Singh looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Singh uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Titanus. Titanus throws a nice inside leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Singh throws a nice looking combination but Titanus bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Titanus swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Titanus connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Titanus tests Singh's chin there with a solid looking shot. Titanus walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Singh drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Titanus swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Singh's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Constantine Titanus! A relieved looking Constantine Titanus thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Opdauhl works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Stevens takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. A cross from Opdauhl lands. Stevens clinches. Stevens drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Stevens jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Opdauhl walks away with a smile on his face. Stevens gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Opdauhl thuds his right hand into Stevens's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Opdauhl is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. A punch lands to the side of Opdauhl 's head but he takes it in his stride. Stevens scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Stevens has taken the fight to the clinch.
Opdauhl lands with a light punch inside. We've been informed that Opdauhl has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Opdauhl presses Stevens against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Opdauhl tries to throw a body punch but Stevens avoids it by throwing Opdauhl back against the cage. Stevens blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Stevens tries to pull guard but Opdauhl holds him up against the cage and eventually Stevens drops back down to his feet.

It looks like Andrei Chikatilo has been cut. We've been hearing reports that Kimura has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Kimura avoids the body shot from Chikatilo.
Kimura doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Chikatilo connects with a solid leg kick. Chikatilo scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Chikatilo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Kimura wants to clinch but Chikatilo slips to the side and Chikatilo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Khalifa feints the counter takedown. A big right from Khalifa misses. Khalifa throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Howell throwing a counter right hand but Khalifa manages to avoid it. Howell throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Howell lands a nice shot to the body.
Howell stalks Khalifa and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Khalifa's face. Khalifa staggers backwards, shaken. Howell connects with the punch. Howell throws a series of punches but Khalifa moves out of range. Khalifa feints the counter takedown. Howell throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Khalifa counters with a three punch combo that has Howell backing up. Howell nods at Khalifa to acknowledge the strikes. Howell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Khalifa fails with a takedown attempt.

and Howell counters with a left to the body. Howell throws a big shot that misses. Howell connects with a good right hand that stumbles Khalifa. Khalifa circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Khalifa tries to bum rush Howell with a series of wild strikes but Howell uses good footwork to avoid the assault. No joy there for Howell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Khalifa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Howell's waist but Howell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Khalifa off to one side. Howell swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Josh Howell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Khalifa Khalifa. A big right from Howell misses. The fighters circling - Howell throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Khalifa tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Howell fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wei gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Wei takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Wei moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Rustandi is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. A head kick misses from Rustandi. Rustandi has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Rustandi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Rustandi dips to his left and cracks Wei with an uppercut! Rustandi has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Wei. Rustandi scores with a shot to the body.
Wei stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rustandi. Wei wants to clinch up but Rustandi keeps it at a distance. A jab lands there for Rustandi. Rustandi scores with a nice strike. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rustandi dodges the punch combination from Wei.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tural misses with a combination
and Ramos connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ramos misses with a straight left. We've been told by Ramos's head coaches at Seventh House that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Tural closes the distance looking to clinch and Ramos cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Tural is rocked! Ramos lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Tural at a distance.
Tural gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Ramos gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Tural is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
