The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Wolter checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Wolter connects with a good right hand that stumbles LePew. LePew circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Jonas Wolter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wolter paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Wolter throws a lazy uppercut

and LePew counters with a takedown into side control.
Wolter takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Wolter is looking for a sweep.
Wolter is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Wolter wants to improve his position but LePew is controlling well.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. LePew lands a nice short elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
LePew tries to pass to full mount but Wolter defends it.
Wolter regains full guard. Nicely done.
Wolter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in LePew's guard.

Wolter wants to control from the top but LePew keeps moving.
LePew doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

LePew is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wolter defends well.
Wolter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

LePew had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wolter defends it easily.
LePew is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

LePew has his foot on Wolter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wolter works his way back into a safe position though.
LePew lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Wolter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

LePew won't allow Wolter to pass to mount.
