Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joseph Annuaku! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sullivan Barera! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Annuaku takes a jab right on the kisser.
Some wild striking there from Barera.
Annuaku changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Sullivan Barera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A slow jab from Barera misses its intended target. Barera listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Barera with a jab. Annuaku throws a lazy right hand but Barera sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A punch lands to the side of Annuaku 's head but he takes it in his stride. A combination from Annuaku does no damage. Barera looks like he wants to counter punch here. Barera lands a nice looking body shot.
Annuaku slips a straight right by Barera. Annuaku shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A lazy left from Barera finds it's target. Barera misses with a hook. Annuaku tries to counter with a takedown but Barera is quick to defend against it. Barera cracks Annuaku on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Annuaku falls backwards against the cage. Barera follows up with more strikes that drop Annuaku to his knees. Barera keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Annuaku! This one is all over!
