The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaw drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Miles has his foot on Shaw's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shaw works his way back into a safe position though. Shaw drops back looking for a leg! Miles is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Miles manages to kick Shaw off! Shaw jumps back into Miles's guard. Shaw avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Calzighe takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Calzighe takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Calzighe changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cortez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Calzighe wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cortez, who protects the arm well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cortez wants to get back to his feet. Calzighe looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Cortez wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Calzighe decides to stand back up. Calzighe steps back and let's Cortez get back to his feet. Calzighe chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cortez can pounce on him.
Cortez throws a head kick that misses. Cortez uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Calzighe moves out of range as Cortez throws a body kick.

Calzighe checks a leg kick nicely. Cortez does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Cortez tries a head kick but it misses.

The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Calzighe lands with a nice combination. Cortez backs away looking to recover. Cortez lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Cortez looks for the body kick but Calzighe saw that one coming. Calzighe has a takedown stuffed. Cortez loads up on a big right hand but Calzighe slips the punch. Calzighe takes a kick to the side of the head. A head kick misses from Cortez. A head kick misses from Cortez. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Joseph Calzighe will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Cortez throws a nice looking combination but Calzighe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Cortez looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Cortez lands a head kick. Calzighe smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. wang has gone for a leg lock! Garcia slips out almost immediately though and dives into wang's guard. Garcia preventing the sweep. wang is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Garcia is aware though and is defending well. wang is looking for a guillotine. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cromphout shoots in for a takedown but Fernandes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Fernandes missing with a left hand there. Cromphout was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A lazy left from Fernandes finds it's target. Cromphout throws a hook to the side of Fernandes's head but Fernandes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Fernandes misses with a wild combination.

Fernandes tries for a takedown but Cromphout circles away easily and Cromphout counters with a left and a right... And another left! Fernandes is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savage wants to clinch up but Clay keeps it at a distance. Savage plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Savage really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Clay misses with the combination.

Clay's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Clay swings for the body but Savage moves out of range.
Clay throws a looping overhand right but Savage ducks down to avoid it. Savage throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Clay. A combination from Clay does no damage. Clay slaps away a takedown attempt from Savage, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Randy Savage. That's going to take a lot out of him. Savage clinches up against the cage. Clay tries to break free but Savage pushes him back against the cage. Clay takes an elbow to the temple. Savage is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Savage is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Savage throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Clay works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Clay keeping moving, preventing Savage from controlling successfully. Savage is standing up over Clay. Clay looks to escape but Savage dives into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Savage advances nicely into full mount. Clay tries to hold on but Savage postures up. Savage is landing with some decent strikes but Clay is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Savage with good strikes from the mount here! Savage has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Clay's face.
Clay really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Savage. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Savage prevents Clay from getting the reversal. Clay is trying to stand up. Savage breaks from Clay's wrist control and lands an elbow. Savage unloading with bombs! A nice elbow there by Savage. Savage prevents Clay from getting the reversal. Clay is breathing heavily. Clay squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Savage landing strikes from the mount. Clay is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Savage lands a heavy elbow. Savage postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Clay looks a forlorn figure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee warns Clay that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Clay is looking to improve his position but Savage isn't that keen on the idea. Clay takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Savage in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Savage lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Clay tries to hold on but Savage pushes him away. Clay is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Savage looking for a guillotine from mount but Clay is having none of it. Clay tries to buck Savage off but he can't manage it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Clay tries to reverse the position but Savage maintains control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Savage lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Savage is nestled in close to Clay, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Savage is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Clay is just riding it out for now. Savage eventually gives up the hold. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
