2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gigantor Ubereem! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, BJ Penn! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Penn. Ubereem uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Penn.
Ubereem connects with a single shot there. Penn tries for a takedown but Ubereem sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Penn looks for a takedown but Ubereem sprawls well. Gigantor Ubereem has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of BJ Penn. Penn throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ubereem was covering up waiting for the punch and Penn finishes the takedown easily into guard. Penn stands and throws Ubereem's legs to the side, diving into side control. Ubereem tries to escape but Penn is in control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn is working to tighten is grip on Ubereem's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Ubereem has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Penn is really squeezing tight and eventually Ubereem passes out! Penn breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Dan Monroe! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez throws a lazy right hand but Monroe sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Jesus Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sanchez thuds his right hand into Monroe's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Monroe ducks under a wild hook from Sanchez. Sanchez throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
A swing and a miss from Sanchez. Sanchez's corner calls for a 1-2. Sanchez obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Monroe slips under a jab. Monroe tries to bum rush Sanchez with a series of wild strikes but Sanchez uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Sanchez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Monroe sees it coming and avoids it easily. Monroe looks to land a combination but Sanchez avoids it well. Monroe misses with a straight right. Sanchez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Monroe moves away. Sanchez scores with a jab to the body. Monroe throws a lazy right hand but Sanchez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sanchez fails with a takedown attempt. Monroe dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sanchez. That did some damage! Sanchez attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Monroe takes one to the chin there. Sanchez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Monroe pinned against the cage. Monroe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monroe scores with a nice right hand.
Sanchez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Monroe manages to avoid it. Monroe takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Monroe on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Sanchez misses with a double jab.
Sanchez misses with a hook. Monroe keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sanchez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sanchez lunges at Monroe with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Monroe's hand. Monroe throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A slapping leg kick lands for Sanchez.

enabling Monroe to counter with a crisp jab. Sanchez throws a good cross that connects.
Sanchez throws a leg kick that is checked and Sanchez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Sanchez missing with a left hand there. Monroe was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez misses with a wild body shot. Dan Monroe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Monroe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sanchez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Monroe was covering up waiting for the punch and Sanchez finishes the takedown easily into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sanchez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sanchez postures up and lands a big shot to Monroe's brow. Sanchez is looking to work some ground and pound but Monroe has wrist control. Monroe wants to sweep but no luck. Sanchez missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Monroe controls Sanchez momentarily but Sanchez frees himself. Sanchez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Monroe is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sanchez, into his guard. Monroe got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sanchez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Monroe has managed to get both his arms back between Sanchez's legs - danger averted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monroe is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Sanchez has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Monroe is looking to defend but Sanchez has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Monroe! Sanchez pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Monroe taps out and this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mir showed some decent athleticism there. Mir controlling the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mir is looking for a kimura here.
Mir trying to control the action but Castroy is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir is taking a breather. Castroy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Mir looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Castroy is trying to escape back to his feet but Mir uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Mir lands a few punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Castroy is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Castroy trying to remain calm as Mir controls from the top position. I looks like Mir might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Castroy defending against the ground and pound. Mir is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Castroy looks calm but he's in trouble here. Mir gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Castroy is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Mir lets go of the hold and Castroy can pop his arm back in it's socket.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vegas closes the distance and clinches. Apollo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Vegas with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Apollo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Vegas walks away with a smile on his face. Apollo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Vegas clinches up with Apollo and pushes him back against the cage. Apollo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vegas smiles and moves away.
Vicky Vegas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cratos Apollo. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Vegas, right into the meat.
Vegas stuffs the takedown attempt from Apollo. Apollo gets slowly back to his feet. Apollo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vegas is fending him off so far but Apollo persists. Nope, Vegas circles away and we're back to standing. Apollo dives in and grabs Vegas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vegas pushes down on Apollo's head and hops out. Apollo has a takedown stuffed. Apollo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Apollo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vegas tries to avoid it but Apollo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vegas to the ground. Vegas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vegas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Apollo looks gassed! Vegas throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Vegas stalling. Vegas working over Apollo with some ground and pound. Apollo looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Vegas missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Vegas throwing shots but Apollo is blocking nicely. Vegas looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Vegas not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Apollo is looking to control Vegas's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Apollo avoid being mounted?

Nice strikes from Vegas there. Vegas perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Vegas works his foot free and advances to mount. Apollo is bucking up trying to escape but Vegas cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vegas looking to ground and pound but Apollo is blocking nicely. Apollo really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Apollo wants to control but Vegas is having none of it. Vegas sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Apollo tries to hold on but Vegas pushes him away. Vegas tries to control but Apollo wriggling away. Apollo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Stalling in the clinch from Vegas.
Vegas seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Vegas gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Stalling in the clinch from Vegas.
Apollo fails to pull guard.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Vegas. Vegas is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Vegas gets a trip takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Apollo blocking the ground and pound attempt from Vegas. Apollo looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Vegas seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vegas's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Apollo wants to control but Vegas is keeping busy and won't allow it. Vegas wants to free his trapped foot but Apollo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vegas in particular looking to stall. Vegas sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Apollo defending well though. Vegas thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Vegas slows the pace down in half guard. Vegas throws a strike but Apollo avoids it easily and moves to full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vegas postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vicky Vegas dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Apollo misses with a takedown and Vegas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Apollo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Vegas stacks Apollo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Vegas! Apollo managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Vegas.
Apollo tries to bench press Vegas off him but Vegas keeps the position. Vegas throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Apollo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Vegas wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Apollo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Apollo is not content to let Vegas control the position. Vegas is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Apollo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vegas is looking to take a break and control but Apollo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Vegas closes the distance and clinches. Vegas leaning against his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Vegas works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Vegas lands an elbow inside. Apollo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Vegas just stands there and leans against the cage. Vegas is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Apollo can do to turn this around? Vegas is leaning against Apollo and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. A bit of stalling here from Vegas.
Vegas gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. Vegas with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Apollo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Vegas just stands there and leans against the cage. Vicky Vegas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cratos Apollo. Apollo tries to pull guard but Vegas won't allow it.
Vegas lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Vegas has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Apollo regains guard immediately. Vegas not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Apollo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vegas wants to get up but he can't break Apollo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Apollo wants to control the position but Vegas says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Vegas is trying to control the action in half guard but Apollo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Apollo wants to control but Vegas is keeping busy.
Vegas throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Vegas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Apollo keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Vegas working Apollo over with strikes. Vegas is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Vegas trying to control from half guard but Apollo is working away. Apollo tries to get to full guard but Vegas has control of the leg. Cratos Apollo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Vegas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And that's the end of the fight! Vicky Vegas showed his dominance in that final round. Well Vegas has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelson throws and low kick but Kawasati moves out of range easily. Nelson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kawasati trying to control but Nelson postures up.
Nelson wants to control but Kawasati is keeping him busy. Nelson is thwarting Kawasati's attempts to control the position. Kawasati actively working from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nelson is keen to just control but Kawasati is a slippery customer. Nelson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kawasati kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Kawasati desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nelson throws a nice outside leg kick.

Kawasati misses the shot to the body. Kawasati keeps the fight on the outside. Nelson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Kawasati misses with a looping left. Nelson takes a swing at Kawasati's ribcage but misses. Nelson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Nelson throws a low kick but Kawasati avoids it. Nelson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kawasati.
Nelson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Cerveny throws a nice outside leg kick. Cerveny is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Cerveny works the jab nicely. I think Lander might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Tribute. Nixon comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!
