The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Howlett misses with an uppercut. Rose saw that one coming. Rose misses with a takedown and Howlett counters with a nice uppercut. Howlett lands with a hook. Rose tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Rose lands with a cross. Howlett uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rose. James Howlett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Howlett misses with a hook to the body
and Rose counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Jab from Howlett. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Howlett takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Howlett misses with a leg kick and Rose counters with a straight right hand. Howlett swings away with a body shot that misses
and Rose counters with a left and a right that stings Howlett. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rose looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Howlett has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Rose is on him like a limpet, forcing Howlett back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rose breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Howlett lands a nice looking body shot.
Howlett stuffs the takedown attempt from Rose. Rose gets slowly back to his feet. As Rose looks to move away, Howlett throws a big counter combo bu Rose just gets out of the way. Howlett jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Howlett cracks Rose with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Rose throws out a loose jab but Howlett uses good head movement to avoid it. Howlett throws a good cross that connects.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rose misses with a takedown and Howlett counters with a straight right hand. James Howlett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derick Rose. Howlett looks to land a right hand but Rose moved out of range. James Howlett is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rose rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Howlett counters with a nice uppercut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Howlett scores with a jab. A looping hook to the body misses from Howlett. Rose does a little dance to reset his feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Howlett looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Howlett throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Howlett just misses with a punch to the body.
And Rose tries to counter it with a takedown but Howlett pushes his down on his head and steps out. Howlett fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Rose checks it well. Rose looks like he wants to counter punch here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A punch combination from Rose misses. Rose ducks under a wild hook from Howlett. Rose with the counter takedown but Howlett avoids it easily. Rose shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Rose missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Rose throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Howlett tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Howlett is defending against the submission attempts here by Rose.

Rose is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Howlett pulls him back up using the underhooks. Rose tries to score a body lock takedown but Howlett shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Howlett lands a shoulder strike. Howlett controlling the action here for a moment.

Rose tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Howlett stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Howlett wants it to stay on the feet. Rose might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Rose throws a hook to the side of Howlett's head but Howlett sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Rose misses with a straight right. A swing and a miss from Rose. Howlett scores with the left hand. Rose knows he should have avoided that one. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Howlett on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A swing and a miss from Rose. It looked like Howlett wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Howlett connects with a single shot there. Rose shoots in for a takedown but Howlett shows good takedown defense. Howlett ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Rose darts in looking for a takedown but Howlett gets double underhooks and turns Rose into the cage. Howlett was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Howlett avoids a punch combination nicely.

Rose is rocked! Rose walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Howlett swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab from Mason. Tseng swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mason drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Tseng defends it well. Tseng lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Mason lands with a shot to the body. Mason misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tseng.

He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Tseng was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mason is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Tseng's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Mason on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Mason felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Mason is trying is best to control the position here. Mason is refusing to be controlled, as Tseng sits in half guard. Tseng wants to free his trapped foot but Mason is holding on for dear life with his legs. Mason is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Tseng wants to control but Mason is keeping him busy. Mason wants to control but Tseng is keeping busy.
Tseng is just content to waste time from the top position. Mason takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

We've been hearing that Gracie has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bunce connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

That has opened up Enzo Matias Demaestri's cut even more. Bunce throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Demaestri counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Demaestri takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. A combination from Demaestri does no damage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Demaestri scores with a nice right hand.
We've been informed that Demaestri has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Bunce throws a poor cross that misses
and Bunce takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
