Michaels drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ongka dives on top into guard.
Michaels really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ongka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ongka is pushing down on Michaels's leg trying to pass to half guard. Michaels is fighting to maintain full guard but Ongka has managed to sneak the leg through.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartwright throws a push kick but Morrison slaps the foot to one side.
Cartwright throws a big shot that misses.
Grant Morrison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Morrison gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Cartwright postures up and lands a big shot to Morrison's brow.
Morrison looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Cartwright throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Morrison works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cartwright loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Morrison is adopting a defensive guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cartwright drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Morrison manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cartwright has Morrison in his guard.

Cartwright working for a triangle but Morrison defends it easily.

Morrison trying to control but Cartwright is working from the bottom.

Cartwright is looking to cinch up a triangle. Morrison throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cartwright's body to avoid the submission. Cartwright has instead reached around Morrison's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cartwright arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
