1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Picard! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Picard gets tackled into the cage by Evans. Evans maintains the clinch. Picard's coach down at Montreal Elite Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Picard's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Evans manages to break the clinch.
Evans gets a clinch. Evans drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Picard trying to control but Evans is working from the bottom. Picard passes into half guard. Picard seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Evans does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Evans keeping hold of Picard's head, controlling as best he can. Picard tries to pass the half guard into mount. Evans knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Evans regains full guard. Nicely done. Picard postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Evans is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Picard, into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans looking to pass the guard. Picard working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Evans. Evans got a little sloppy there for a moment and Picard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Evans has managed to get both his arms back between Picard's legs - danger averted. Evans wants to control from the top but Picard keeps moving. Evans pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Picard is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Evans accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Picard looking to control.
Evans has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Picard is proving hard to escape from. Evans not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Picard is trying to control the position but Evans postures up. Evans stays in close to Picard's body and controls the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Picard throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Picard changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Picard with a hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Picard takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Jean Picard is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Evans manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Picard on his heels. He'll look to pass Picard's guard now, I'm sure. Evans postures up and lands a big shot to Picard's brow. Evans is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Evans wants to stand but Picard has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Evans knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Picard on the ground. Evans wants to control from the top but Picard keeps moving. Evans wants to pass the guard but Picard is keeping the position.

Evans trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Picard keeping moving, preventing Evans from controlling successfully. Evans is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Picard utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Edwin Evans will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Evans on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Evans is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Picard's half guard. Picard makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Picard. Picard is trying to keep Evans in close.
Picard has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Evans doesn't defend quickly enough and Picard has managed to lock this one up! Can Evans escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Picard on a fantastic submission victory.

I think Jones might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to DJ Shadow - Organ Donor. Martin has chosen Bodies Drowing Pool as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones avoids the head kick by Martin .
Martin moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Jones takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Martin jabs Jones right on the nose. Jones blinks but takes it well. A head kick misses from Jones. Martin doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Jones misses with a wild body shot. Martin bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jones's head.
It looks like Cory Jones has been cut. Jones pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Jones tries for a takedown but Martin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Martin swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Cory Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones misses with an uppercut
and Martin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Jones throws a head kick that misses. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jones. Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Martin was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones looks to land a body kick but Martin moved away. Frank Martin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jones takes a kick to the side of the head. Jones on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Martin thows a left - swing and a miss! Martin has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Jones is landing a low percentage of strikes. Martin throws a wild body kick that Jones sees coming a mile off. Jones tries to counter with a takedown but Martin is quick to defend against it. Martin avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Martin , right into the meat.
Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Martin pushes Jones off looking to stand but Jones dives back in and keeps control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martin is not content to let Jones control the position. Jones works his way into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Martin keeps working. The strikes coming from Jones are missing the target in this wave of attacks. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Martin bucks up and tries to throw Jones off but instead Jones has got his back! Martin is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Jones is punishing Martin with strikes - can he finish him?! Martin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Martin is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Jones gets his way!

He's got one arm under but Martin is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Jones has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Martin taps out!

An out of breath Cory Jones thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ace dives in and grabs Draven's left leg, looking for a takedown. Draven pushes down on Ace's head and hops out. Sloppy strikes from Ace. Those never looked like landing. Ace shoots in for a double leg but Draven sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Ace changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Draven tries to avoid it but Ace manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Draven to the ground. Draven escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Ace. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ace rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Draven moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Nice cross by Ace. Draven throws a nice inside leg kick. Draven lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Draven.
Draven lands with a slapping head kick. Johnny Ace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ace throws a right and a left that both miss. Ace moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromDraven. Draven fails in his attempt to clinch. Draven stuffs the takedown attempt from Ace. Ace gets slowly back to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ace misses with a double jab.

Draven throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Ace closes the distance and clinches up with Draven, looking for a takedown. Ace pushes Draven against the cage but Draven circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Draven is trying to counter with his kicks. Ace is breathing heavily. Draven connects with a high kick.
Ace is rocked! A slapping body kick lands there for Draven. Oh Ace is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Draven connects with an inside leg kick. Ace shoots and misses and Draven counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ace's knee momentarily. Draven cracks Ace with a hook to the temple - Ace is on wobbly legs here! Draven swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Ace falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Draven wins by TKO!

After the fight, Eric Draven was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leblanc misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Leblanc ducks under a wild hook from Pierre. Leblanc tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pierre sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Leblanc somewhat. Nice takedown defense from Pierre. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davidson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Davidson is working Theodoreau over with some ground and pound from side control. Theodoreau parries the strikes from Davidson easily there. Davidson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Theodoreau to escape.
