Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Franco Rosales! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jefferies has Rosales up against the cage in a clinch.
Rosales's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The fight moves into the clinch position. Rosales escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jefferies throws a sloppy head kick and Rosales moves out of range easily. Rosales is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Rosales has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Jefferies blocks a head kick by Rosales.

Rosales keeping moving, preventing Jefferies from controlling successfully. Jefferies tries to free his leg and advance position but Rosales is retaining full guard. Jefferies is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Jefferies is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at The Butcher's Block that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Jefferies wants to control from the top but Rosales keeps moving. Jefferies pushing down on Rosales's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rosales tries to circle away but Jefferies has him pinned against the cage. Rosales works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Jefferies has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Rosales off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Rosales avoids the head kick by Jefferies.

Jefferies dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Rosales wants to break free but Jefferies has control.

That has opened up Franco Rosales's cut even more. Jefferies stalling.
Jefferies lands an elbow inside that Rosales shrugs off. Jefferies creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Rosales takes an elbow to the forehead. Jefferies lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
The cut above Franco Rosales's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Rosales pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jim Jefferies dominated that round. The cut man is working on Franco Rosales's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jefferies walks away with a smile on his face. Rosales gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jefferies closes the distance and clinches. Rosales prevents a body shot from Jefferies. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jefferies takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Jefferies lands with a left to the head. Jefferies misses with a hook to the ribs.

Jefferies cracks the inside of Rosales's front leg. Jefferies clinches. Rosales tries to pull guard but Jefferies forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Jefferies will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Rosales up against the cage. Jefferies lands an elbow inside. Rosales blocks an uppercut.

Franco Rosales's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Rosales tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jefferies manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Jefferies is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rosales can do to turn this around? Jefferies lands a nice elbow.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Capobianco enables Sharpe to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Capobianco manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Sharpe is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Capobianco has his feet on Sharpe's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Sharpe is looking to clinch. Sharpe changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Capobianco looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Sharpe taking a break here but Capobianco is having none of it and regains half guard. Capobianco trying to control here.

Capobianco slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Capobianco is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sharpe is controlling him. Capobianco lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Capobianco stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sharpe swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Capobianco tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sharpe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Sharpe tries to clinch up. Sharpe lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Capobianco misses with a takedown attempt and Sharpe makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Sharpe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Capobianco is fending him off so far but Sharpe persists. Nope, Capobianco circles away and we're back to standing. Capobianco slaps away a takedown attempt from Sharpe, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sharpe closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Capobianco quickly recovers to half guard. Sharpe is thwarting Capobianco's attempts to control the position. Capobianco gets back to full guard.

Capobianco tries to land a sweep but no joy. Capobianco manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sharpe manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sharpe changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Capobianco fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sharpe looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sharpe has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Capobianco is landing a low percentage of strikes. Capobianco tries to clinch up but Sharpe circles away and keeps his distance. Sharpe has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Sharpe shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sharpe showed some decent athleticism there. Sharpe is pressing down on Capobianco's thigh, looking to free his foot. Capobianco is holding on for now. Capobianco tries to roll over but Sharpe keeps him under control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sharpe content to control rather than advance. Sharpe throws a big elbow that misses. Capobianco escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sharpe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Sharpe is in close to Capobianco's body, working some short punches and elbows. Capobianco not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sharpe drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Capobianco manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sharpe has Capobianco in his guard. Capobianco trying to control the position from guard on top but Sharpe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Capobianco is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Sharpe keeping hold of Capobianco's head, controlling as best he can.

Capobianco manages to land in guard. Capobianco uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Sharpe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Capobianco paws at him with a jab and circles away. Sharpe goes for a double leg but Capobianco avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Capobianco continues to drive forward. Capobianco dips to his left and cracks Sharpe with an uppercut!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sharpe displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Capobianco. Capobianco rushes Sharpe and presses him up against the cage. Capobianco has Sharpe pushed against the cage. Capobianco is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Sharpe is defending well. Capobianco gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sharpe.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alfredo Capobianco. I think Sharpe has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jump takes a swing at Waker's ribcage but misses. Waker looks to land a combination but Jump avoids it well. Waker lands a jab to the head.
Jump looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Waker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jump. Jump jabs Waker right on the nose. Waker blinks but takes it well. Waker scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Waker ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Jump tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Waker is able to avoid easily. A bone on bone clash there as Jump blocks the leg kick.
Nice sprawl there from Jump as Waker shoots in. It seemed like Jump was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Waker lands with a nice combination. Jump backs away looking to recover.
Jump is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Waker connects with a body shot. Jump is still on wobbly legs! Can Waker finish him? Jump looks winded! Jump walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Jump limp body while Waker jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emenochukwu is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Newman.
It looks like Chineye Emenochukwu has been cut. We've been hearing reports that Emenochukwu has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Newman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Newman cracks Emenochukwu with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Emenochukwu throws out a loose jab but Newman uses good head movement to avoid it. Emenochukwu tries for a takedown but Newman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Sloppy strikes from Newman. Those never looked like landing. Emenochukwu throws a hook but Newman blocks it. Newman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Newman uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Emenochukwu. Emenochukwu shoots in looking for a takedown but Newman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Emenochukwu's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Emenochukwu rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Newman moves out of range and avoids them all easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Emenochukwu is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Newman's half guard. Emenochukwu is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Emenochukwu patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Emenochukwu slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leonard shoots in for a double leg but White sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. White looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Leonard dives in and grabs White's left leg, looking for a takedown. White pushes down on Leonard's head and hops out. Leonard shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. White defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ray Leonard. That's going to take a lot out of him. Leonard looks for a takedown but White sprawls well. Leonard dives in for a single leg takedown but White sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Leonard shoots in but White avoids the takedown attempt easily. Leonard fails with a takedown attempt. As Leonard backs off White throws a huge counter combo but Leonard manages to avoid it all.

Leonard fails with the takedown. White unleashes a big counter combination but Leonard bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Leonard looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. White fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Leonard to the ground. White is now in Leonard's guard. Leonard is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. White avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

White defends it easily. Leonard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for White on the ground. Leonard throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Leonard is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. White is aware though and is defending well.

Leonard manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. White keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Leonard on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as White accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. White avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Leonard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. White gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Leonard lands with a heel strike from the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. White lands a couple of digs. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Leonard is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Leonard's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Leonard duly obliges. Leonard darts in and clinches White up against the cage. Leonard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Leonard tries for a takedown but White sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nice takedown defense from White. No joy for Leonard on that attempt. Leonard closes the distance and clinches up with White, looking for a takedown. Leonard pushes White against the cage but White circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

White throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Leonard was covering up waiting for the punch and White finishes the takedown easily into guard. White wants to pass the guard but Leonard is keeping the position. Leonard working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from White. White wants to control from the top but Leonard keeps moving. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Leonard looking for subs off his back but White has passed one foot through into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ray Leonard. Well Leonard has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Murdock stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Ruff tries for a takedown but Murdock circles away easily and Murdock cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Murdock scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Murdock missing with a left hand there. Ruff was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Ruff tries to clinch and Murdock counters with a nice uppercut. Murdock lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ruff at a distance.

Ruff postures up in Murdock's guard and throws a big left but Murdock blocks it. Murdock really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ruff. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ruff wants to control from the top but Murdock keeps moving. Ruff postures up.
Murdock is pulling down on Ruff's head to control his posture. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ruff makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ysengrin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hammer. Ysengrin misses with a looping right. Hammer throws a hook but Ysengrin avoids it easily. Ysengrin has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Ysengrin scores with a shot to the body.

Ysengrin darts in looking for a takedown but Hammer gets double underhooks and turns Ysengrin into the cage. Ysengrin lands a jab. Hammer pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. And Ysengrin tries to counter it with a takedown but Hammer pushes his down on his head and steps out. Ysengrin fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hammer throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ysengrin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A nice side step and Ysengrin releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Ysengrin fails with the takedown enabling Hammer to counter with a crisp jab. Hammer fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Ysengrin takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Hammer went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Ysengrin throws a hook to the side of Hammer's head but Hammer sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Ysengrin is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Donk. Hammer catches Ysengrin right on the button with a cross. Ysengrin throws a body shot but no joy. Hammer throws a head kick that misses.

Good standup being displayed there by Ysengrin as he connects with a hook. Ysengrin swings and misses with a shot to the body and Hammer counters with a nice kick to the body. Hammer takes a jab right on the kisser.
Ysengrin misses with a straight right. Ysengrin throws a hook to the side of Hammer's head but Hammer sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A swing and a miss from Ysengrin. Ysengrin moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. That kick from Hammer tenderised Ysengrin's leg. Ysengrin is trying to keep his angry face on.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lukas Hammer. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hammer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves tries to sprawl but Gaines drives through with a takedown into half guard. Gaines looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gaines working Alves over with strikes. Gaines sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Alves defending well though. Alves works his way to full guard. Good work. Gaines controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Gaines in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Gaines stopping the sweep attempt from Alves. Gaines is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Gaines feints the counter takedown. Alves lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gaines circles away quickly and effectively. Gaines looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Alves! Gaines landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Gaines content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gaines lands a decent elbow from side control. That was a close round but I would say that Michael Alves will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

We've been informed that Gaines has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gaines seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Alves has hold of Gaines's hands but Gaines slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Gaines slows the pace down in half guard. Gaines landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Gaines slips a nice elbow through Alves's hands, connecting with Alves's forehead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves wants to get back to full guard. Gaines frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Alves is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Alves on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Alves tries to get out of the position. Gaines in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Alves is rocked! Oooooh, big shot lands for Gaines! Alves is hurt baaadly! Gaines is firing away with more strikes - Alves is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Bruce Lee looks to throw a body kick and Landry counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Landry wants to clinch and Bruce Lee counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Landry! Bruce Lee has hold of Landry's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Landry tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Bruce Lee cranks the arm and Landry screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Landry, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
