The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Varner slips a jab and a cross from Skura.
Varner looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Skura throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Varner counters with a nice double leg into side control. Skura won't be happy with that. Skura tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Varner missing with strikes from the back. Skura is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Varner gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Varner is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Varner seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Skura for as long as he can get away with. Skura is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Skura is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Skura is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Varner has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Skura's body.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Varner is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Skura. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thiago defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Souza. Souza shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Thiago counters with a lovely shot to the body. Souza doesn't succeed with the takedown and Thiago counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Souza. That's going to take a lot out of him. Souza dives in and scores a takedown into Thiago's guard. Thiago uses the ropes to get back to his feet.
Souza closes the distance and clinches up with Thiago, looking for a takedown. Souza pushes Thiago against the ropes but Thiago circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Thiago tries to sprawl but Souza drives through with a takedown into half guard. Thiago manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Souza keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the ropes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Thiago throws an elbow that misses.

Jorge Thiago is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Souza throws a right and a left that both miss. Souza gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Thiago counters with a lovely straight right hand! Souza has Thiago up against the ropes in a clinch.
Thiago comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Thiago lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Souza backwards. Souza blocks an elbow strike from Thiago.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Thiago just misses with a elbow thrown towards Souza's brow. Thiago pushes off an throws an elbow but Souza leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes. Souza dodges an elbow strike from Thiago.

Souza looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Souza is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Thiago to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Thiago shrugs it off. Souza is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Thiago has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Souza throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Thiago has his hands clasped together but Souza breaks the hold and Thiago is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Souza!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bush has a takedown stuffed. Bush defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Apolinario. Apolinario closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Bush tries to roll over but Apolinario keeps him under control. Bush looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Apolinario is looking for a kimura but Bush is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Apolinario to get the leverage. Bush wants to control the action here but instead Apolinario manages to pass to full mount! The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bush is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rexar misses the shot to the body. Rexar connects with a crisp jab. Jone takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. A combination from Rexar does no damage. A telegraphed right hand from Rexar misses the target. A punch combination from Rexar misses. Rexar checks a leg kick. Rexar takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Rexar misses with a straight left. Jone has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Rexar keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Still in the clinch, Jone scores with a nice short uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jone breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jone fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Rexar looks to land a left hand but Jone moved out of range nicely. Rexar thuds a left hand into Jone's body. Rexar dives in and grabs Jone's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jone pushes down on Rexar's head and hops out. Jone circles away from the clinch attempt.

Will he be able to recover?!! Nice shot by Jone. Rexar dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Rexar takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Nice uppercut lands for Jone. That snapped Rexar's head back.

Rexar falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Jone wins by TKO!

During a confident post fight interview, Jack Jone thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. Tyler Rexar spoke after the fight, saying 'Sucks that i didnt get to defend the title but I got no regrets coz i fought with a young stud who's an amazing fighter, and he was the better man tonight. Congrats to the new champ.'.
