Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Herteruiop Jertuaser! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joel Romero Basquez! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Hugh Johnson and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Basquez throws a head kick but Jertuaser moves out of range.
A slapping body kick lands there for Basquez. Jertuaser throws the kick towards the body but Basquez avoids it. Jertuaser changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Basquez tries to avoid it but Jertuaser manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Basquez to the ground. Basquez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Basquez throws a lazy right hand but Jertuaser sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Jertuaser is looking to clinch. Basquez wants to counter with a clinch but Jertuaser pushes him away. Jertuaser definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Jertuaser dives in and grabs Basquez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Basquez pushes down on Jertuaser's head and hops out. Basquez throws a leg kick but Jertuaser checks it. Jertuaser appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Jertuaser will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Jertuaser avoids the head kick by Basquez.
Basquez rushes Jertuaser and presses him up against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The referee is keeping an eye on Jertuaser - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Basquez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jertuaser ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Basquez moves away. Basquez is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
That's one minute gone in the round. Basquez misses with a two punch combination.
Basquez has managed to clinch.
Jertuaser jumps guard and drags Basquez to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Jertuaser keeping moving, preventing Basquez from controlling successfully. Jertuaser is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Basquez throwing strikes but missing. Basquez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Basquez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jertuaser, up you get!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jertuaser blocks a jab. Basquez gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Basquez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Basquez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Jertuaser crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Basquez - the referee stops the clock and Jertuaser gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Basquez. Jertuaser manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Basquez tries to land a leg kick but Jertuaser saw it coming and moves away.
Basquez slaps away a takedown attempt from Jertuaser, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Herteruiop Jertuaser. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck for Jertuaser with that takedown attempt. Basquez throws a head kick that Jertuaser semi-blocks.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Basquez throws a sloppy head kick and Jertuaser moves out of range easily. Basquez looks winded! Basquez leaves Jertuaser with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joel Romero Basquez dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Basquez moves into the clinch. Jertuaser manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Basquez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jertuaser, up you get! Basquez has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Jertuaser is landing a low percentage of strikes. Herteruiop Jertuaser is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jertuaser checks a low kick from Basquez. Basquez throws a series of punches but Jertuaser moves out of range. Joel Romero Basquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Basquez pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Basquez throws a head kick but Jertuaser moves out of range.
Basquez throws a head kick that misses. Jertuaser wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Basquez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Basquez throws a head kick but Jertuaser moves out of range.
Basquez is breathing heavily. Jertuaser tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Basquez swivels and escapes. Basquez clinches with his opponent.
Basquez misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Jertuaser.

Jertuaser looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Basquez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Basquez looking to sit in guard and control but Jertuaser gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jertuaser wants to control from the top but Basquez keeps moving. Jertuaser really is a fat lump. Jertuaser is standing up over Basquez. Basquez looks to escape but Jertuaser dives into side control.
Basquez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Basquez tries to escape but Jertuaser is in control. Jertuaser tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jertuaser has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Basquez tries to escape but Jertuaser is in control. Basquez tries to improve position but can't. Jertuaser throwing shots but missing, from side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jertuaser trying to control the position but Basquez is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joel Romero Basquez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Basquez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jertuaser's guard. Jertuaser manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Jertuaser manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Basquez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jertuaser. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Basquez stands and steps away. Jertuaser gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. A head kick misses from Basquez. Basquez throws a sloppy head kick and Jertuaser moves out of range easily. Basquez moves into the clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Basquez. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Basquez drags the fight down to the ground.
Basquez wants to stand and escape but Jertuaser is having none of it. Jertuaser gets to his feet - Basquez follows without any prompting. Basquez gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Basquez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Basquez has Jertuaser pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Basquez pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Jertuaser tumbling to the mat - Basquez dives into Jertuaser's guard. Jertuaser pushes Basquez off and scrambles back to his feet.

He's worked his way up against the cage but Jertuaser has just dragged him back down to the mat. Jertuaser trying to control the action but Basquez is working from the bottom. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jertuaser lands some shots froms side control. Basquez is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jertuaser is controlling him well. The ground and pound from Jertuaser seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Basquez is trying to buck Jertuaser off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but Herteruiop Jertuaser did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Basquez has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Basquez and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Basquez throws a sloppy head kick and Jertuaser moves out of range easily. Joel Romero Basquez seems to be getting the better of the standup. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Jertuaser rushes Basquez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Jertuaser lands on the inside with an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jertuaser has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Basquez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Basquez jumps guard.
Jertuaser is standing up over Basquez. Basquez looks to escape but Jertuaser dives into side control.
Jertuaser is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Basquez is trying to escape and Jertuaser transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Basquez is forced to tap! Nice work there by Jertuaser! Very nice indeed!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maxwell throws a head kick that misses. Maralit has taken the fight to the clinch.
Maxwell is trying to pull guard but Maralit turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Maralit lands a nice elbow.
It looks like Scott Maxwell has been cut. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Maralit just misses with a elbow thrown towards Maxwell's brow. A nice glancing elbow lands by Maralit. Maxwell is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Maralit to keep the fight standing. Maralit lands a damaging elbow. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Maralit manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Maxwell blocks the elbow strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maxwell is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Maxwell pulls Maralit into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maxwell is looking for a triangle but Maralit pushes his legs off easily.
Maxwell is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Maralit is controlling him. Maralit trying to control but Maxwell is working from the bottom. Maxwell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maralit doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Maxwell is tightening it up a little... Maralit has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Maralit reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Maralit taps out! Nice BJJ there by Maxwell!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suker throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Suker moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Suker throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Uzl tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Suker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Suker lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Uzl has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Uzl and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Suker keeps Uzl at a distance using the push kick. Suker feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Uzls jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Uzl doesn't succeed with the takedown and Suker counters with a big head kick but Uzl shrugs it off.

Suker connects with a solid leg kick. Suker plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Suker tries to land a body kick and Uzl counters by moving into the clinch. Uzl is trying to break the clinch but Suker is controlling him. Uzl throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Uzl is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Suker gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Suker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Suker throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Davor Suker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Suker throws a series of punches but Uzl avoids them all with ease. Uzl looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Suker has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Suker lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Uzl fails with the takedown and Suker counters with a two punch combo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Louie Uzl. That's going to take a lot out of him. Suker scores with a kick to the midsection. A thudding body kick lands there by Suker!

Uzl has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Suker turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Suker lands a nice shot to the body.

Uzl will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Suker scores with a head kick.
Crunch! Suker slams his shin into Uzl's torso. Suker moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Suker throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A thudding body kick lands there by Suker!

Uzl on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Louie Uzl is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Uzl takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Suker lands a really nice looking cross but Uzl seems unphased.
Suker connects with a leg kick. Uzl looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Suker jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Uzl takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Suker scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Davor Suker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Suker lands a jab to Uzl's midsection. Suker throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Suker lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Suker tries to bum rush Uzl with a series of wild strikes but Uzl uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Uzl tries to clinch but Suker moves out of range. And Suker responds with a good body kick, but Uzl manages to step out the way in time. Uzl blocks a head kick by Suker.

Suker connects with a leg kick. Uzl looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Suker looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Suker scores with a nice head shot. Uzl takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Louie Uzl's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Suker lands a jab to the nose. Uzl takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Uzl is rocked! Suker with a hook. Oh Uzl is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Suker throws a shot to the body.
Suker's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Suker duly obliges. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Suker, right into the meat.
Suker fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Decent striking displayed by Suker there. Suker digs a good body shot into Uzl's ribs. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Suker lands with a straight right. Uzl didn't see that one coming. Suker lands with a cross. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Suker scores with a head kick. Uzl tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. The fighters circle, before Suker throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Uzl's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Suker lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Davor Suker! Our winner, Davor Suker, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter checks the leg kick nicely there.
Say Yuk definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Hunter closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Say Yuk quickly recovers to half guard. Hunter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shainji shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shainji is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Shainji with a nice head shot there. Shainji with a nice head shot there. Shainji landing some decent shots from guard. Shainji content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Shainji stands up over jo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Arthur yanks on the arm and Cairncross is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Arthur.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Antonov feints and then cracks Rodgers's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rodgers down. Rodgers pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Antonov back to the cage. Rodgers follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Rodgers connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Antonov throws a front kick aimed at Rodgers's knee but Rodgers avoids it well. Antonov avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Antonov delivers a nice body kick. Antonov lands a leg kick that knocks Rodgers off balance momentarily. Antonov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
