Mayo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mustonen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd cheers as Arvanitidis lands an impressive looking overhand right. De Fran doesn't seem phased though.

Arvanitidis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in De Fran's guard.

De Fran had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Arvanitidis defends it easily.

I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Maslow has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Some bone on bone action there as Maslow checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Dragunov lands a nice hook to Maslow's body. Maslow takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dragunov lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Maslow has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Maslow and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Maslow stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Dragunov throws a lazy right hand but Maslow sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
