1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, What Rape! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leidner closes the distance and clinches. Leidner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Leidner darts in looking for a takedown but Rape gets double underhooks and turns Leidner into the cage. Leidner dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rape. That did some damage! Rape tries to clinch there but Leidner circles away.
Rape tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Rape changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Leidner tries to avoid it but Rape manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Leidner to the ground. Leidner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Leidner lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Rape shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Leidner's guard. Rape cracks Leidner with a solid left hand. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rape connects with a nice short shot to Leidner's temple. Rape manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Leidner wants to clinch up but Rape keeps it at a distance. Rape drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Rape lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rape working some strikes from top position. A head kick misses from Herrera. Melkovick smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Herrera throws a lazy head kick and Melkovick counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Melkovick tries to break free but Herrera pushes him back against the cage. Melkovick throws a punch but it's blocked by Herrera. Herrera told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Herrera is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Herrera lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Melkovick. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Melkovick's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A decent looking cross lands there for Melkovick. Herrera swings away with a body shot that misses

We've been hearing reports that Melkovick has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Herrera throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Herrera shoots in and drives through. Melkovick sprawls well. Melkovick slips under a jab from Herrera. Herrera throws a sloppy head kick and Melkovick moves out of range easily. Melkovick swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Herrera has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Melkovick finds it's way round the side to connect with Herrera's head. Joaquin Herrera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Herrera scores with a nice body kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Herrera does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Melkovick blocks the body kick.
Melkovick gets tackled into the cage by Herrera. Herrera maintains the clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Melkovick takes a knee to the side of the body. Melkovick can't break the clinch.
Melkovick lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Herrera or not. Melkovick is looking to break free of the clinch but Herrera has double underhooks. Melkovick breaks from the clinch.
Melkovick lands a head shot. Melkovick is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Herrera takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Herrera thows a leg kick but Melkovick checks it and Melkovick counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Herrera pushes Melkovick up against the cage in a clinch. Melkovick takes a knee to the side of the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Herrera creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Herrera is rocked! Melkovick has Herrera pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Melkovick pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Herrera tumbling to the mat - Melkovick dives into Herrera's guard. Herrera is still in real trouble! Can Melkovick finish him? Melkovick sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Herrera's guard. Melkovick is working for a kimura but Herrera is defending it quite comfortably.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kurosaki throws out a loose jab but Cooper uses good head movement to avoid it. Cooper misses with a wild body shot. Cooper fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kurosaki manages to avoid it. Cooper ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Cooper keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Cooper drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kurosaki sprawls and moves away. Nice body kick from Kurosaki. A nice leg kick lands there from Kurosaki. Cooper moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Kurosaki tries to land a front kick but Cooper steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cooper ducks under a wild hook from Kurosaki. Cooper half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Kurosaki throws out a loose jab but Cooper uses good head movement to avoid it. Cooper fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kurosaki has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Gentry manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gentry connects with a body shot that sends Estheim's belly button to the back. Estheim tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gentry swats him away and circles back towards the center. A little feinted left hand from Gentry on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Gentry tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Estheim was well out of range. Poor timing from Gentry. Gentry dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Sazh Estheim has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Estheim pushes Gentry up against the cage in a clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Matt Gentry showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gentry, winning every round. Will the judges agree? The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kilkenny explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. A nice leg kick lands there from Kilkenny. Kilkenny forces Jaso back against the cage and clinches. Jaso takes an elbow to the forehead.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A swing and a miss from Davidson. Blahyi throws out a counter right but Davidson avoids it with no problem. Blahyi darts in looking for a takedown but Davidson gets double underhooks and turns Blahyi into the cage. Blahyi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Davidson's guard. Davidson seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Blahyi's corner is telling him to maintain position. Blahyi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davidson swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Davidson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Blahyi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Blahyi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. Blahyi steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Davidson. That one must have hurt. Davidson misses with an uppercut. And Blahyi tries to counter it with a takedown but Davidson pushes his down on his head and steps out. A slapping leg kick lands for Davidson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brewster throws an overhand right that lands on Morais's shoulder, as Morais tries to avoid the shot. Good shot there by Brewster.
It looks like Mutant Morais has been cut. Brewster uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Brewster wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Brewster takes a swing at Morais's ribcage but misses. Morais has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Brewster finds it's way round the side to connect with Morais's head. Morais keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brewster fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Morais manages to avoid it. Morais scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Brewster cracks Morais with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
That has opened up Mutant Morais's cut even more. Morais shoots for a double leg takedown but Brewster sprawls well. He's pushed Morais's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Brewster throws a body punch but Morais moves out of range. This has been an exciting period of action! Brewster cracks Morais with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Morais works over Brewster's head and body with a nice combination.

Brewster delivers a spinning backfist that drops Morais like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
