Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andy Owen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Junjun Beenay! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Steve Erwin and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beenay darts in looking for a takedown but Owen gets double underhooks and turns Beenay into the cage. A kick lands to the mid section there for Owen. Owen is looking to slow Beenay down with leg kicks. Beenay throws a right and a left that Owen avoids nicely. Owen connects with a body shot that sends Beenay's belly button to the back. Owen throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Beenay looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Owen throws a quick counter kick to the body but Beenay avoids it. No luck for Beenay with that takedown attempt. Beenay takes the fight into the clinch. Owen lands a knee to the head.
Beenay breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Owen lands a glancing blow to the side of Beenay's head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Beenay closes the distance and clinches. Beenay decides to pull guard. Owen trying to control but Beenay is working from the bottom. Owen throws an elbow that misses. Beenay uses the momentum to reverse the position. Owen throws a leg kick which misses Beenay's front leg but catches the back leg as Beenay tries to avoid it. Owen scores with a crisp jab that stopped Beenay in his tracks.

Beenay looks winded! Owen connects with a high kick. Owen leaves Beenay with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Owen is looking for a counter combo. Beenay on the wrong end of a nice hook. Beenay moves into range and clinches up with Owen. Owen struggles to land a body shot inside as Beenay controls his hands.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Owen jabs Beenay to the body, keeping him at a distance. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Owen, right into the meat.
Owen dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Beenay. That did some damage! Owen keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Owen swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Owen closes the distance and lands a one-two. Beenay looks to land a combination. Owen sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Beenay is looking to score with low kicks. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Owen throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Owen is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Nice uppercut there from Owen. Owen connects with a good right hand that stumbles Beenay. Beenay circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Beenay avoids the head kick by Owen.

Beenay's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Owen is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Owen scoring well with a low kick there.
Owen thuds his shin into the meat of Beenay's side. Owen throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Beenay takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Owen is looking to wear down Beenay with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Owen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Beenay stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Owen lands with a slapping head kick. Beenay drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beenay chips away with some ground and pound. Beenay drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Beenay seems to have locked his on tight now - Owen screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Beenay, as he picks up the win!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tran bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Birbiglia gets a double leg takedown into Tran's guard. Birbiglia working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Birbiglia sitting in guard, not really doing much. Birbiglia content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Birbiglia seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Birbiglia passes easily into side control. Nice work. Birbiglia definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Tran looks winded! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A very excited looking Roger Birbiglia rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed. Andrew Tran spoke after the fight, saying 'Well It Wasn't My Best Fight, But I Will Train Hard To Get Back In The Game And Win My Next Fight.'.

Simon ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Suker keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Simon. It looked like Suker wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Simon clinches up with Suker and pushes him back against the cage. Simon tries to land knees in the clinch but Suker avoids the damage to the body. Suker blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Simon tries to land a knee to the head but Suker blocks with his arms.

Chris Simon is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Simon controlling the pace for now. Let's hope that Simon has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Raja Wijaya! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Skip Squint and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boyka fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Wijaya shoots in looking for a takedown but Boyka manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wijaya's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. A chopping leg kick lands by Boyka. Wijaya moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Wijaya drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Boyka is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wijaya is controlling him. Boyka trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boyka is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at The PIT that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Wijaya postures up in Boyka's guard and throws a big left but Boyka blocks it. Wijaya is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Wijaya has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wijaya stands up over Boyka, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Boyka utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Boyka on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Boyka tries to get out of the position. Wijaya won't allow Boyka to get back to his feet. Wijaya is working Boyka over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Wijaya prevents Boyka from getting back to his feet. Raja Wijaya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wijaya shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Boyka defends it nicely. Wijaya changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boyka tries to avoid it but Wijaya manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boyka to the ground. Wijaya fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Boyka manages to avoid it. Wijaya shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Boyka but Boyka pushes him off and we're back to square one. It appears Boyka was looking to counter with a kick there. Boyka throws the kick towards the body but Wijaya avoids it. Wijaya avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Wijaya tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Boyka throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Boyka throws a chopping leg kick but Wijaya manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Wijaya dives in and grabs Boyka's left leg, looking for a takedown. Boyka pushes down on Wijaya's head and hops out. Wijaya blocks a head kick by Boyka.

Wijaya on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Boyka will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Mason is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Mason throws a sloppy head kick and Marcus moves out of range easily. It looked like Marcus was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Mason drives through and clinches with Marcus against the cage.
Marcus's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Mason stuffs the takedown. Nice takedown defense from Mason. No joy for Marcus on that attempt. And Mason responds with a good body kick, but Marcus manages to step out the way in time. The fight moves into the clinch position. Marcus breaks the clinch.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mackenzie on the wrong end of a nice hook. Mackenzie lands a slapping body shot.

The fighters circle momentarily. Baring darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Mackenzie takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Mackenzie throws a head kick but Baring moves out of range.
Matthew Mackenzie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mackenzie tries to close the distance and clinch up but Baring swats him away and circles back towards the center. Mackenzie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Baring.

Baring dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mackenzie. That did some damage! We've been told by Mackenzie's head coaches at Fokai Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Good leg kick by Baring there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Mackenzie throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Mackenzie scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mackenzie. A slapping leg kick lands for Baring.
Mackenzie takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Good exchange - Baring coming out on top. Baring rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mackenzie moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Some wild striking there from Mackenzie.

Mackenzie lands a heavy head kick that drops Baring. The ref tackles Mackenzie to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Baring was done.
