Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gandalf Grey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Khalifa Khalifa! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Winston Howard and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grey moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Khalifa misses with a lunging right hand
letting Grey counter with a right hand. Khalifa shoots for a takedown but Grey saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Grey misses with a leg kick. Khalifa swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. A leg kick checked by Khalifa. A little jabbing left from Khalifa on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Khalifa shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Grey works his way to full guard. Good work. Grey has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Khalifa has passed into side control.
Grey takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Khalifa swings around for an armbar but Grey sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Khalifa's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grey is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Grey passes Khalifa's left leg - he's now in half guard. Grey wants to control but Khalifa is keeping him busy. Grey is pressing down on Khalifa's thigh, looking to free his foot. Khalifa is holding on for now. Khalifa tries to get to full guard but Grey has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Khalifa manages to get to full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Grey walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Khalifa checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Khalifa keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Khalifa feints the counter takedown. Khalifa closes the distance and clinches up with Grey, looking for a takedown. Khalifa pushes Grey against the cage but Grey circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Grey showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Khalifa.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jab from Grey. Grey displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Khalifa. Gandalf Grey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Khalifa Khalifa. Khalifa darts in looking for a takedown but Grey gets double underhooks and turns Khalifa into the cage. Grey misses the body punch enabling Khalifa to counter with a crisp jab. Khalifa on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Grey. Grey obviously looking to wear him down.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Grey is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Khalifa. Khalifa feints the counter takedown. Grey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Khalifa manages to avoid it. Grey looks to score with a jab to the body but Khalifa is just out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Khalifa shoots in for a double leg but Grey sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Khalifa Khalifa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Grey moves into range and clinches up with Khalifa. Grey stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Gandalf Grey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Khalifa Khalifa. Grey lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Khalifa backwards. Grey lands a damaging elbow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Khalifa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Grey swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Khalifa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bong displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lesner. Bong misses with a hook. Lesner ducked under it nicely. Lesner tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bong is able to avoid easily. Bong seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Bong shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Lesner throws a low kick but Bong avoids it. Bong misses with a body shot.
Lesner looks to land a combination but Bong avoids it well. Bong misses with a hook. Lesner has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bong finds it's way round the side to connect with Lesner's head. A telegraphed right hand from Bong misses the target. Lesner dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bong. That did some damage! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lesner shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Lesner scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
It looks like El Ka Bong has been cut. Lesner takes one to the chin there. This has been an exciting period of action! Bong catches Lesner with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Bong lands a jab to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lesner moves away from the strike by Bong. Lesner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bong. Lesner turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Lesner defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bong. Bong moves into the clinch. Bong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A big left from Bong misses. Lesner slips under a jab from Bong. Bong comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Lesner slips under a jab from Bong. Lesner circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lesner tries a quick counter leg kick but Bong is wise to it. Bong forces Lesner back against the cage and clinches. Bong taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Bong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lesner lands with a nice combination. Bong backs away looking to recover. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A jab from Bong misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Bong looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Lesner swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A swing and a miss from Bong. Bong waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Lesner. Lesner throws a body shot but no joy. Lesner circles away from the clinch attempt and Lesner counters with a lovely straight right hand! Bong throws a body punch but Lesner moves out of range. Bong fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lesner appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Bong is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Bong tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lesner was well out of range. Poor timing from Bong. A little jabbing left from Lesner on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Bong throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lesner. Lesner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bong moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bong misses with a double jab
and Lesner counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lesner lands a front kick. Lesner scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Bong shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lesner as he jumps to the side. Bong is breathing heavily. Bong chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lesner can pounce on him.

Lesner now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Lesner throws a right hand that Bong ducks under and follows up with a left that Bong also avoids with ease. Lesner fails to land with a series of punches.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bong has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lesner has Bong pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bong manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bong misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lesner.
Bong jabbing away but nothing is landing. Bong backing away here, and Lesner unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Lesner throws a head kick that Bong semi-blocks.

Lesner slips a straight right by Bong. Bong decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Lesner looking for submissions off his back. Bong is figuring out what he wants to do next. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lesner wants to improve his position but Bong is controlling well.
Bong is looking for a kimura but Lesner is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bong to get the leverage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Brock Lesner will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on El Ka Bong's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Bong throws the left hand but Lesner avoids the punch easily. Bong tries to sprawl but Lesner drives through with a takedown into half guard. Bong has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lesner is working away from the top position though. Bong is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lesner seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bong does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Lesner is just content to waste time from the top position. Bong takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Bong pulls Lesner in close to prevent any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Lesner trying to control the position from guard on top but Bong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lesner being controlled here momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bong is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lesner defends well. Lesner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Lesner is still trying to improve position. Bong not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Lesner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lesner staying out of range there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Lesner fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Bong instigates a clinch. Lesner drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lesner in particular looking to stall. Bong is trying to get back to full guard. Bong wants to control but Lesner is keeping busy.

Bong takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Bong lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Bong throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Lesner is looking to improve his position.
Bong is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lesner is just riding it out for now. Bong eventually gives up the hold. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lesner tries to roll over but Bong keeps him under control.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Byczynski throws a nice outside leg kick. Stevenson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doom goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Ben Stien has been cut. Doom feints and then cracks Stien's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Stien down. Stien fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Doom lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Stien lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Doom circles away quickly and effectively. Stien takes one on the chin but seems OK.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Stien has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Doom throws a right hand that Stien ducks under and follows up with a left that Stien also avoids with ease. Stien misses with a low kick.
