17 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rage Kootz! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab from Kootz. Kootz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rakhmanov. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kootz.
Rakhmanov tries to move into range but Kootz moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Kootz throws a looping overhand right but Rakhmanov ducks down to avoid it. Kootz jabs Rakhmanov right on the nose. Rakhmanov blinks but takes it well. A jab from Rakhmanov does it's job there. Rakhmanov scores with a decent looking hook. Rakhmanov scores with a shot to the body.
Rakhmanov looks to land a body kick but Kootz moved away. Rakhmanov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kootz connects with the punch. Kootz avoids the body shot from Rakhmanov.
Kootz fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Kootz misses with a hook. Rakhmanov misses the shot to the body. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kootz, right into the meat.
Kootz tries to work over Rakhmanov's front leg with a kick but Rakhmanov checks it. Rakhmanov feinted with a counter takedown. Rakhmanov lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
That's one minute gone in the round. A good leg kick by Kootz. A decent looking cross lands there for Kootz. Kootz connects with a nice looking jab.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rakhmanov. Kootz looks like he wants to counter punch here. Rakhmanov throws a head kick but Kootz moves out of range.

Rakhmanov ducks under a wild hook from Kootz. Kootz throws a big shot that misses. Kootz throws a right and a left that both miss. Rakhmanov attempts a counter takedown but Kootz avoids it well and moves away. Rakhmanov moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Rakhmanov throws a head kick that misses. Kootz fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Rage Kootz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kootz lands with a kick to the ribs.
Jab by Kootz. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kootz ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Kootz let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Kootz throws a body kick that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rakhmanov takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Nice defenses there by Kootz. Rakhmanov dodges the punch combination from Kootz.
Some bone on bone action there as Rakhmanov checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Rakhmanov takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Rakhmanov with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kootz to score with a decent uppercut. Kootz throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Rakhmanov counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Rakhmanov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Rakhmanov throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rakhmanov throwing shots but Kootz is blocking nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kootz is looking to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rakhmanov sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kootz defending well though. Rakhmanov thows a huge punch but Kootz dodges it nicely.
Nice strikes from Rakhmanov there. Rakhmanov is looking to pass Kootz's guard but actually Kootz recovers to full guard. Kootz wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Kootz keeping full guard, as Rakhmanov tries to pass. Kootz keeping moving, preventing Rakhmanov from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rakhmanov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kootz is controlling Rakhmanov's posture. Rakhmanov passes easily into side control. Nice work. Kootz is trying to get back to half guard. Rakhmanov working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Rakhmanov sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kootz is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Rage Kootz will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Kootz stuffs the takedown attempt from Rakhmanov. Rakhmanov gets slowly back to his feet. Kootz blocks a low kick nicely. Kootz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kootz smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Rakhmanov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kootz. Kootz ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Rakhmanov misses with an uppercut. Kootz saw that one coming. Kootz drops his hands momentarily and Rakhmanov takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Kootz has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Kootz scoring well with a low kick there.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rakhmanov. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rakhmanov blocks the body kick.
Rakhmanov is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Kootz. A leg kick checked by Kootz. Rakhmanov throws a leg kick that is checked and Kootz counters with an inside leg kick. Rakhmanov missing with a left hand there. Kootz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Kootz lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kootz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rakhmanov. Rakhmanov throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Kootz counters with a lovely straight right hand! Kootz keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Rakhmanov tries to land a front kick but Kootz steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Kootz has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Kootz avoids the head kick by Rakhmanov.
Rakhmanov gets off balance looking for a body kick and Kootz counters with a straight right hand. Crunch! Kootz slams his shin into Rakhmanov's torso. Kootz feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Rakhmanov's calf. Kootz lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Rakhmanov tries a head kick but it misses.

Rage Kootz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kootz thows a left - swing and a miss! Kootz lands a leg kick that knocks Rakhmanov off balance momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rakhmanov lands a leg kick that knocks Kootz off balance momentarily. Rakhmanov stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. A decent looking cross lands there for Kootz. Rakhmanov takes a jab right on the kisser.
Rakhmanov has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kootz. Kootz lands a front kick. Rakhmanov gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kootz. Kootz bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Kootz looks to land a right hand but Rakhmanov moved out of range. Kootz scores with a crisp jab that stopped Rakhmanov in his tracks. Kootz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rakhmanov. Rakhmanov obviously looking to wear him down.
Rakhmanov tries for a takedown but Kootz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Kootz looks to land a combination. Rakhmanov sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Kootz lands with a hook. Rakhmanov tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Rakhmanov looks to land a body kick but Kootz moved away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kootz misses with a low kick. Nice cross by Rakhmanov. Rakhmanov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikhail Rakhmanov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kootz thuds his shin into the meat of Rakhmanov's side. Kootz shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Rakhmanov throws a big shot that misses. Rakhmanov cracks Kootz with a right hand to the side of the head. Rakhmanov throws a body shot but no joy. Rakhmanov takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Kootz connects with the punch. Rakhmanov misses with an uppercut. Kootz throws the left hand but Rakhmanov avoids the punch easily. Rakhmanov tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kootz tries to move into range but Rakhmanov moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Kootz takes a shot right to the bread basket. Kootz ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Rakhmanov lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kootz at a distance.
Kootz throws a leg kick which misses Rakhmanov's front leg but catches the back leg as Rakhmanov tries to avoid it. Kootz avoids the head kick by Rakhmanov.
Rakhmanov is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Rakhmanov throws a hook but Kootz avoids it easily. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kootz lands a jab to Rakhmanov's midsection. Kootz scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Rakhmanov thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Kootz if he has to take too many more of those.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rage Kootz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Kootz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rakhmanov manages to avoid it. Rakhmanov looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Jab from Kootz. Rakhmanov takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Kootz looks to throw a body kick and Rakhmanov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kootz won't be happy with that. Kootz managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Rakhmanov.
Rakhmanov creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Kootz on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Kootz parries the strikes from Rakhmanov easily there. Rakhmanov is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kootz to escape.
Rakhmanov throwing strikes but Kootz manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rakhmanov is looking to reverse the position. Rakhmanov prevents Kootz from improving position. Rakhmanov tries to buck Kootz off but Kootz is having none of it. Mikhail Rakhmanov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rakhmanov is not content to let Kootz control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rakhmanov is looking to reverse the position. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Rakhmanov is looking for a sweep. Rakhmanov manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Rakhmanov slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Rakhmanov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kootz manages to get himself to full guard.
Rakhmanov throws an elbow that misses. Kootz uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rakhmanov's guard. Nice move by Kootz! Kootz trying to control the position from guard on top but Rakhmanov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rakhmanov wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rakhmanov is working hard here to advance position. Kootz wants to control from the top but Rakhmanov keeps moving. Rakhmanov looking for subs off his back but Kootz has passed one foot through into half guard.
Rakhmanov tries to roll over but Kootz keeps him under control. Kootz trying to pass the guard but Rakhmanov defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kootz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rakhmanov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Kootz is looking to advance position but Rakhmanov won't allow it. Kootz wants to take a breather but Rakhmanov is having none of it. Rakhmanov is pressing down on Kootz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Rakhmanov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kootz manages to get himself to full guard.

Kootz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rakhmanov. Rakhmanov throws a big elbow that misses. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rakhmanov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kootz's head. Rakhmanov wants to pass the guard but Kootz is keeping the position. Mikhail Rakhmanov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! Mikhail Rakhmanov showed his dominance in that final round. I think Kootz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Banner throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Tartan seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Banner lands a hook that stumbles Tartan back into the cage. Banner follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Tartan to the canvas! Banner pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Tartan has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Eanes lands a really nice looking cross but Steelers seems unphased.
It looks like Pittsburgh Steelers has been cut. Pittsburgh Steelers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steelers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Eanes tries to counter with a clinch but Steelers shakes him off and moves away. Eanes dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Steelers tries to move into range but Eanes moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Steelers swings widly with a right hand
and Eanes counters with a left and a right that stings Steelers. Steelers looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Steelers connects with a looping right hand.

and Eanes counters with a straight punch to the midsection. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A looping hook to the body misses from Steelers. Eanes does a little dance to reset his feet. Eanes is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Steelers clobbers Eanes with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eanes moves into range and clinches up with Steelers. A right handed body shot lands from Eanes.
Steelers is breathing heavily. Eanes lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. A short right from Eanes on the inside. Eanes lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Come on Eanes - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Eanes. Eanes scores with a nice hook to the head. Steelers is trying to break the clinch but Eanes has him pressed against the cage. Eanes scores with an uppercut up the middle. Eanes presses Steelers against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Eanes lands with a right to the head. Eanes lands a hook that snaps the head of Steelers backwards. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Eanes is leaning against Steelers and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Eanes lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Steelers is rocked! An uppercut to the body lands inside from Eanes. Oh Steelers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Eanes has a couple of punches blocked by Steelers.
Eanes dips a shoulder and cracks Steelers with a mighty uppercut! Steelers falls back against the cage and Eanes unloads with a barrage of strikes! Steelers is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Eanes screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vasco Eanes! In defeat, Pittsburgh Steelers stepped up to the mic, saying 'I can not believe he beat me. Fuck!'.

It looks like Dran Jast has been cut. A head kick misses from Munjiza. Munjiza throws a sloppy head kick and Jast moves out of range easily. Jast uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Munjiza. Jast appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Munjiza will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Munjiza misses with a wild body shot. Munjiza with a body punch. A glancing blow. Munjiza connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Jast looking to score a takedown here. Munjiza is defending well but Jast drives through and ends up in Munjiza's guard. We've been hearing that Jast has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Munjiza bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jast's guard. Munjiza would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Munjiza throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jast works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Munjiza wants to stand but Jast has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Munjiza scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Munjiza tries to stand but Jast is controlling from the bottom. Jast is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Munjiza is aware though and is defending well. Jast on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jast tries to get out of the position. Munjiza wants to control from the top but Jast keeps moving. Munjiza throwing strikes but missing.

Nice uppercut lands for Vicente. That snapped Nikitin's head back.

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Richards throws a hook but Robinson blocks it. Robinson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A big right from Richards misses. And Robinson tries to counter it with a takedown but Richards pushes his down on his head and steps out. Robinson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Richards tries to avoid it but Robinson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Richards to the ground. Richards escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Richards moves out of range as Robinson throws a body kick.
Richards seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. A kick lands to the mid section there for Richards. Robinson takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Richards uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Robinson. We've been told by Richards's head coaches at Den of Tears (22 coaches, $700 fee) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Richards throws a right and a left that both miss. Richards lands a nice looking body kick. Nice takedown defense from Richards. No joy for Robinson on that attempt. Robinson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Richards as he jumps to the side. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Robinson dives in for a single leg takedown but Richards sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Robinson has taken the fight to the clinch.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Richards trying to control but Robinson is working from the bottom.

Bryant trying to remain calm as Evans controls from the top position. Evans is looking to take a break and control but Bryant is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Evans is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bryant knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Bryant changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Evans tries to avoid it but Bryant manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Evans to the ground. Evans escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Bryant pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Evans digs a good body shot into Bryant's ribs. Evans throws a head kick but Bryant moves out of range.
Evans dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Desean Bryant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bryant darts in trying to clinch and Evans counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Evans fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bryant has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Evans lands a high kick!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bryant shoots in for a double leg but Evans sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bryant is defended easily by Evans. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Desean Bryant. That's going to take a lot out of him. Evans digs a good hook to Bryant's body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bryant has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Bryant avoids the head kick by Evans.
Bryant looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Bryant tries for a takedown but Evans sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bryant shoots in looking for a takedown but Evans manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bryant's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Evans thinks about the counter body kick. Nick Evans seems to be getting the better of the standup. Good standup being displayed there by Evans as he connects with a hook. Evans scores with a head kick. Bryant tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Bryant is rocked! A head kick by Evans - that's a beauty! Bryant is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Evans can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
