Knott kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Kanye West vs. The xx - Touch The Sky (Carlos Serrano Mix) . I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Henry White was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

And Dhamma tries to counter it with a takedown but Gracie pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Dhamma closes the distance and clinches up with Gracie, looking for a takedown. Dhamma pushes Gracie against the cage but Gracie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Gracie has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbosa swings for the body but Grant moves out of range.
Grant misses with a kick to the body.
A little jabbing left from Barbosa on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Grant swings for the body but Barbosa moves out of range.
Barbosa fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Grant tries to land a front kick but Barbosa steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Barbosa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Grant was well out of range. Poor timing from Barbosa.

A nice side step and Barbosa releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Grant's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Barbosa connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Grant scrambles back to his feet.

Barbosa feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Grant sprawling to the canvas! Grant rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Barbosa finish him?!

It looks like Terrell Grant has been cut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Barbosa is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Grant rather than just go for the knockout.
Barbosa buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Barbosa slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Grant dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Barbosa. That did some damage!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Grant.
Barbosa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Both fighters circling a little - Barbosa finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Grant doesn't manage to clinch there - Barbosa circles away.
Grant misses with a body punch
and Barbosa counters with a thumping low kick.
Barbosa throws a push kick but Grant slaps the foot to one side.
Grant tries to counter with a takedown but Barbosa is quick to defend against it.
Barbosa throws a body shot but no joy.
Barbosa misses with a double jab.
Grant takes one on the chin but seems OK.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Barbosa enables Grant to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Barbosa manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Grant tries to free his leg and advance position but Barbosa is retaining full guard.

Grant postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Barbosa is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Grant, into his guard.

Grant escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barbosa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Grant comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Grant looks for a takedown but Barbosa sprawls well.

Grant changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barbosa tries to avoid it but Grant manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barbosa to the ground. Barbosa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Terrell Grant. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Grant takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Oh Grant is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Grant misses with a body shot.
Grant seems to have got his legs back now.
Grant on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Grant leaves his chin hanging out and Barbosa seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Grant crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
