The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir lands with a nice body kick.
Williams misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mir lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Williams circles away quickly and effectively.
Mir throws a head kick that Williams semi-blocks.
Williams has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Mir.
Williams lands the left hand.
Williams throws a jab but it's blocked by Mir.
A solid leg kick lands there for Mir.
Williams moves out of range of the body kick from Mir.
Mir feints and then cracks Williams's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Williams down.
Williams moves out of range of the strikes.
Williams throws a shot from downtown. Mir moves away and avoids it.
Williams swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Mir uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Williams.

Mir postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Williams is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mir, into his guard.

Mir has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Williams can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mir has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Williams is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mir.

Mir seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Williams does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Mir takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Mir throws a series of strikes that have Williams backpedaling.

Mir has closed the distance and engaged Williams in a clinch.
Williams stops a takedown attempt from Mir.
Williams gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mir.
Williams trying to control the position but instead, Mir has worked for underhooks and has pushed Williams into the cage.
Williams has had enough of the clinch but Mir keeps him there for the moment.
Erik Williams has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
