The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murphy tests Gusmao's chin there with a solid looking shot. Gusmao swinging wildly here.
Murphy misses with a few strikes there.
A jab from Murphy does it's job there. Murphy connects with the punch. Murphy throws a body punch but Gusmao moves out of range. Murphy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Murphy! But no joy. Gusmao misses with a two punch combination.
Murphy tries to clinch but Gusmao is having none of it. Gusmao walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Murphy jabs Gusmao to the body, keeping him at a distance. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gusmao looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Murphy lands a jab. Nice defenses there by Murphy. The crowd cheers as Murphy lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gusmao doesn't seem phased though. Murphy swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Murphy throws a right and a left that Gusmao avoids nicely. Murphy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Murphy has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murphy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Murphy scores with the left hand. Gusmao knows he should have avoided that one. Gusmao throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Murphy is looking for the big counter here. Some bone on bone action there as Gusmao checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. A jab from Murphy does it's job there. Murphy wants to clinch up but Gusmao keeps it at a distance. Gusmao attempts a counter takedown but Murphy avoids it well and moves away. Murphy fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Murphy gets in close and instigates a clinch. Gusmao stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Murphy tries to circle away but Gusmao has him pinned against the cage. Gusmao keeps control of Murphy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Murphy blocking some punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gusmao gets through Murphy's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Gusmao slows down the pace here.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Murphy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gusmao throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Murphy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gusmao moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Murphy lands a nice looking body shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Murphy lands a big right hand that sends Gusmao crashing to the mat! Murphy stays standing though and waves Gusmao back to his feet!
Gusmao is rocked! Murphy steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Gusmao is out on his feet! Murphy sets himself and nearly takes Gusmao's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Brandon Murphy! A very excited looking Brandon Murphy rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bennett moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Bennett works the jab nicely. Frost misses with a wild body shot. Bennett misses with the combination.
As Bennett looks to move away, Frost throws a big counter combo bu Bennett just gets out of the way. Frost takes a shot right to the bread basket. Bennett throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Frost was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Bennett lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Frost out cold! Frost is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Medard fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Major takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Major Major seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Medard throws a half hearted mid kick. Medard's coach down at Quebec MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Medard's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Major connects with a high kick.
It looks like Vincent Medard has been cut. Major throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Major throws a nice looking combination but Medard bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Medard dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Major. That did some damage! Medard fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Major has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. A slapping leg kick lands for Medard.
Medard dips down and scores with a jab to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Medard lands a nice hook to Major's body. Major takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Medard tests Major's chin there with a solid looking shot. Medard dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Major. That did some damage! Medard fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Major. Medard thumps Major with a low kick. Major throws a head kick that misses and Medard counters with a lovely straight right hand! Major takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
That's one minute gone in the round. A good leg kick by Medard. Medard feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Major's calf. Medard lands with a nice body punch. Major misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Medard throws out a counter right but Major avoids it with no problem. Major misses with a low kick. Medard throws a shot from downtown. Major moves away and avoids it. Major seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Medard moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Major on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Medard. Medard obviously looking to wear him down.

A nice side step and Medard releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Major blocks a jab. Medard feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Majors jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Medard fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Major is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Major moves out of range as Medard strikes. Major throws a hook but Medard blocks it. Major misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Medard's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Medard duly obliges. Major takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Major is rocked! Major walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Medard! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Beast fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Karlsson looking to score a takedown here. The Beast is defending well but Karlsson drives through and ends up in The Beast's guard. The Beast working for a triangle but Karlsson defends it easily.
The Beast has his foot on Karlsson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Karlsson works his way back into a safe position though. Karlsson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for The Beast on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The Beast looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Melendez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Romero manages to avoid it. Melendez throws a lazy uppercut
and Romero counters with a shoot takedown. Melendez fights it but they end up in guard. Romero is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Melendez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Melendez has escaped and now he's on top! Romero tries to land a sweep but no joy. Melendez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Melendez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Romero has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Melendez has managed to get both his arms back between Romero's legs - danger averted. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Romero working for a triangle but Melendez defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Romero looks to move to half guard but instead Melendez has passed into mount! Damn! Romero tries to hold on but Melendez postures up. Melendez controlling the pace for now. Romero slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Romero manages to get to full guard.
Melendez content to stall in guard here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Romero is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Giblert Melendez will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Melendez thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Romero to his feet! Romero is in big trouble!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Melendez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Romero looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Melendez lands a big uppercut and Romero crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Romero looks OK. Melendez waves Romero back to his feet!
Romero is rocked! Melendez jabs Romero to the body, keeping him at a distance. Romero is still on wobbly legs! Can Melendez finish him? Giblert Melendez is winning the standup battle so far. Melendez drops Romero with a huge uppercut! Romero drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Melendez is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

It looks like Mirko Vukovic has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vukovic tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Oh Vukovic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! McManus lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Vukovic up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs McManus from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Vukovic's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mick McManus! Mick McManus decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. Mirko Vukovic was interviewed post fight and said 'Unlucky'.
