The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Khalifa tries to clinch but Kane moves away and Kane counters with a shoot takedown. Khalifa fights it but they end up in guard. Khalifa can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kane controls the pace. Kane thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Khalifa is trying to keep Kane in close.
Khalifa wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kane is now in half guard. Khalifa is trying to control Kane's posture. Kane takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Khalifa! Kane is rotating here... this could be the end... Khalifa is out! Kane has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Pulkannaru. Pulkannaru tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Creed swivels and escapes. Pulkannaru throws a sloppy head kick and Creed moves out of range easily. Creed looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Pulkannaru tries a head kick but it misses.
Creed listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Pulkannaru throws a lazy head kick and Creed counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Creed avoids the head kick by Pulkannaru.
Pulkannaru dives in and grabs Creed's left leg, looking for a takedown. Creed pushes down on Pulkannaru's head and hops out. Creed throws a body shot but no joy. Creed finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pulkannaru tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Creed getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Pulkannaru misses with a jab, cross combination.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters circling - Creed throws out the jab but it was never going to land. As Creed looks to move away, Pulkannaru throws a big counter combo bu Creed just gets out of the way. Creed throws a hook but Pulkannaru avoids it easily. Pulkannaru slips a jab from Creed. Creed throws a hook but Pulkannaru blocks it. Pulkannaru appears to be looking for a big counter. Pulkannaru drops his hands momentarily and Creed takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Pulkannaru throws a head kick that misses. A slow jab from Creed misses its intended target. Pulkannaru pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Creed back to the cage. Pulkannaru follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. A combination from Creed does no damage. Pulkannaru lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Pulkannaru seems to have got his legs back now. Creed misses with a straight right. Pulkannaru keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Creed. Pulkannaru is looking for a counter combo. Creed lands with a good body shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pulkannaru steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Creed. Creed scores with a jab. Pulkannaru acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Pulkannaru throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A little jabbing left from Creed on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Pulkannaru clobbers Creed with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. A head kick misses from Pulkannaru. Sloppy strikes from Pulkannaru. Those never looked like landing. Pulkannaru throws a combination that misses and Pulkannaru takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Pulkannaru is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pulkannaru on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Pasi Pulkannaru will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Corbin Creed! Corbin Creed tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool. In defeat, Pasi Pulkannaru stepped up to the mic, saying 'Dang, the fattest dude won this time'.

Ysengrin throws a jab but it's blocked by Ponting. Ysengrin feints and then cracks Ponting's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ponting down. Ysengrin on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Elastinen moves out of range as Loaf strikes. Elastinen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Loaf circles away. Loaf throws a low kick but it's checked well by Elastinen. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Elastinen. Loaf tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Elastinen swivels and escapes. Loaf walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Elastinen checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. We've been hearing reports that Loaf has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Loaf connects with a solid leg kick. Loaf thows a body kick. Elastinen tries to catch it but that hurt him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Elastinen fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Meat Loaf has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erkki Elastinen. Sloppy strikes from Loaf. Those never looked like landing. Elastinen changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Del Norte. Brent misses with a hook. Del Norte ducked under it nicely. Brent takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Del Norte throws an overhand right that lands on Brent's shoulder, as Brent tries to avoid the shot. Brent darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Brent controlling the action here. Del Norte moves into full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Del Norte fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brent manages to avoid it. Brent shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brent was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Del Norte is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Del Norte is not content to let Brent control the position. Del Norte is being controlled here. Del Norte is looking for a sweep. Brent wants to control but Del Norte is keeping him busy. Brent working away. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Del Norte lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Del Norte shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Brent defends it nicely. Brent has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Brent there as he acknowledges the shot. Del Norte throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brent's waist but Brent gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Del Norte off to one side. Del Norte connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Fantinaz Del Norte seems to be getting the better of the standup. Del Norte throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Del Norte has a takedown stuffed. David Brent has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fantinaz Del Norte. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Del Norte shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Brent as he jumps to the side. Del Norte throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Del Norte misses with a shot to the body and Brent counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Brent seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Del Norte does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Brent wants to pass the guard but Del Norte is defending well. Brent works his way into full mount! Brent tries to control but Del Norte wriggling away. Del Norte is in a horrible position here. Brent smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Del Norte is desperately trying to improve his position but Brent has a good base and remains in mount. Brent unloading with bombs! Brent avoids the attempt from Del Norte to control. Brent lands with some strikes. Del Norte in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Brent landing punches.
Del Norte is rocked! Brent controlling his opponent. Del Norte is still in real trouble! Can Brent finish him? Brent with a couple of short strikes. Del Norte is squirming around, avoiding Brent's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Del Norte slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Del Norte seems to have recovered his senses. Brent moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Del Norte. Del Norte is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Brent is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Del Norte wants to control but Brent is having none of it. Del Norte is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Brent looking to control but Del Norte is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Del Norte is desperately trying to improve his position but Brent has a good base and remains in mount. Del Norte is bucking up trying to escape but Brent cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Del Norte is trying desperately to improve position. Brent is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Del Norte goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Brent!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saarenpaa slips under a jab from Kato. A low kick from Kato is predictable there and Saarenpaa counters with a nice uppercut. The fighters circling - Kato throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Kato with a body punch. A glancing blow. Kato misses with a straight left. Saarenpaa is looking to clinch. Kato lands a jab to the nose. Saarenpaa walks into a straight right hand from Kato. Saarenpaa circles away from the clinch attempt and Saarenpaa counters with a straight right hand. Kato listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Kato throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Saarenpaa quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Kenji Kato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A big left from Kato misses. Saarenpaa scores with a head kick. Kato tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. A clash of legs there as Saarenpaa blocks the low kick. Kato connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Saarenpaa's hands.
Saarenpaa is rocked! Kato fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Saarenpaa, pushing him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kato lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Kato lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Saarenpaa backwards. Oh Saarenpaa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Kato breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Saarenpaa swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Kato cracks Saarenpaa with a hook to the temple - Saarenpaa is on wobbly legs here! Kato swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Saarenpaa falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Kato wins by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Kenji Kato! Kenji Kato is the new lightweight champion! A relieved looking Kenji Kato thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
