 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hendrix lands a slapping body shot.
Hendrix cracks a nice hook into Jesus's ribs. Jesus fails with the takedown and Hendrix counters with a straight right hand. Jesus doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hendrix connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Jesus takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jesus fails with the takedown and Hendrix counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.  The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Asd shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and I Can counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Asd shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. I Can is trying to defend but Asd finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Asd misses with a head shot. I Can uses the momentum to regain guard. I Can keeping full guard, as Asd tries to pass. Asd throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as I Can works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Asd postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. I Can should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Asd loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Asd will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
I Can escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Asd gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. I Can trying to keep a closed guard but Asd is proving a slippery customer.
Asd postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! I Can is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Asd, into his guard. Asd is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. I Can must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Asd looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! I Can has picked Asd up and slammed him! Asd can't keep hold of the triangle and I Can manages to pass to side control! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Asd is trying to improve his position.

Asd closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming I Can to the mat! I Can manages to get full guard. I Can is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
I Can is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Asd has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Asd tries to free his leg and advance position but I Can is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Asd throws an elbow that misses. I Can uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Asd's guard. Nice move by I Can!

Asd has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. I Can is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Asd. Asd tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Asd is not content to let I Can control the position.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Asd is looking to reverse the position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
I Can is working to tighten his grip on Asd's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Asd has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but I Can is really squeezing tight and eventually Asd passes out! I Can breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
