The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lanni tries to clinch but Gracie moves away and Gracie cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. TY Lanni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lanni clinches with his opponent.
Lanni is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Gracie is defending well for now. Lanni throws an elbow but it misses.

Lanni is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gracie asserts his dominance and retains side control. Gracie fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Gracie is trying to control the position but Lanni postures up. Gracie looking for a sweep. Not yet Gracie, not yet. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie looking to sit in guard and control but Lanni gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Lanni trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gracie is looking for a triangle but Lanni pushes his legs off easily.
Gracie lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Gracie wants to control from the top but Lanni keeps moving. Lanni wants to get back to his feet but Gracie is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Gracie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lanni's guard. Gracie is working for a kimura but Lanni is defending it quite comfortably.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lanni knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gracie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lanni does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Gracie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lanni pushes Gracie off looking to stand but Gracie dives back in and keeps control.
Gracie has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Gracie jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Lanni is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Lanni and Gracie has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The fight stays on the outside here - Lanni looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Lanni tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gracie paws at him with a jab and circles away. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee thuds a left hand into Prince's body. Lee bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Prince's head. Lee lands with a right hand. Lee with a jab. Lee cracks Prince with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Lee swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Prince. Lee jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Lee tests Prince's chin there with a solid looking shot. Lee scores with a hook. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A punch lands to the side of Prince 's head but he takes it in his stride. Prince on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Lee waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Prince.

Lee moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Lee bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Prince's head backwards. Prince takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Prince's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lee connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Prince scrambles back to his feet. Grant scores with a nice strike. Grant throws an overhand right that drops Bruce like a sack of potatoes! Grant dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Okiro then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Roads slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Bourque defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Chavo. Timothy Bourque has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of El Chavo. A combination from Chavo does no damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bourque pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Chavo bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Bourque keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bourque works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Chavo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Chavo wants to control but Bourque is keeping him busy. Bourque really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Chavo misses with a head shot. Bourque uses the momentum to regain guard.

Bourque utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Chavo throws a big elbow that misses. Chavo throws a strike but Bourque rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bourque takes a swing at Chavo's ribcage but misses. Bourque uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chavo.

Bourque will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Chavo throws an elbow that misses. Bourque uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Chavo's guard. Nice move by Bourque! Bourque in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Chavo is pulling down on Bourque's head to control his posture. Bourque with a flurry of punches that miss. Bourque would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chavo has his hands on Bourque's head, controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

51 - 35 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Simons III! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Simons III looks for a takedown but Mizrahi sprawls well. Mizrahi leaves Simons III with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Simons III takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Simons III takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Simons III takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Mizrahi scores with a jab to the jaw. Donnie Mizrahi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A slapping leg kick lands for Mizrahi.
Simons III moves out of range of the strikes. Simons III shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mizrahi's guard. Mizrahi is pushing Simons III up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Mizrahi is looking to control Simons III's arms but Simons III gets an underhook and turns him. Now Mizrahi has his back to the cage. Simons III works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Mizrahi wants to sweep here but Simons III controlling him for the moment. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Simons III wants to control from the top but Mizrahi keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Simons III manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Simons III takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Donnie Mizrahi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mizrahi scores with a sloppy right hand. Simons III should have avoided that one. Mizrahi catches Simons III with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mizrahi misses with a hook. Simons III drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Mizrahi defends it well. Simons III tries to land a front kick but Mizrahi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Mizrahi wants to clinch.

Simons III will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Mizrahi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Mizrahi lands a nice shot to the body.

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

We've been hearing good reports from Mizrahi's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Beautiful body shot. Mizrahi lands with a kick to the temple. Simons III shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Simons III has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Mizrahi. Mizrahi tries a head kick but it misses.

Mizrahi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Simons III is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Mizrahi goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Mizrahi because Simons III was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
