3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lvn LN! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chris John! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! John moves away from the strike by LN. John throws a nice looking combination but LN bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. LN tries to counter with a takedown but John is quick to defend against it. Chris John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. John fails with an attempt to clinch.
LN changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. LN tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but John was well out of range. Poor timing from LN. LN looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. LN misses the shot to the body. John feints the counter takedown. A right-left combo lands from John. LN showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from John.
LN attempts a counter takedown but John avoids it well and moves away. John stuns LN with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. LN slips under a jab. LN feinted with a counter takedown. A punch combination from John misses. LN throws a lazy uppercut
and John counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Nice shot lands for LN. John works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Nice cross by John. John lands with a hook. LN tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. John throws a right hand that LN ducks under and follows up with a left that LN also avoids with ease. LN avoids a punch combination nicely.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! LN misses with a straight left. LN takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Nice defenses there by John. John shoots in for a takedown but LN shows good takedown defense. LN jabbing away but nothing is landing. John throws a body punch but LN moves out of range. John waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract LN. John swings for the body but LN moves out of range.
John tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but LN defends well and John ends up having to push LN into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. LN takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
John lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but LN circles away quickly and effectively. LN tries to counter with a takedown but John is quick to defend against it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. John throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
LN throws a good cross that connects.
John throws a hook but LN avoids it easily. LN appears to be looking for a counter takedown. LN connects with a right hand. John shakes it off. LN cracks John with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. John throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. John fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with LN, pushing him back against the cage. John has LN pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. LN manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Lvn LN has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris John. LN keeps control of John as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. John is looking to take this one to the mat. LN lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. John is trying to break the clinch but LN is controlling him. LN swings wildly with an uppercut but John uses good head movement to avoid it. LN has a couple of punches blocked by John.

Nice body punch from John. John is looking for a takedown up against the cage. LN gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. John tries for a takedown but LN manages to get underhooks.

John jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as LN walks away with a smile on his face. John gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris John dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
John throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
LN looks to throw the jab but John is out of range. John scores with a hook. LN is on the wrong end of a nice combination from John. John clinches up against the cage. John has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. LN avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. John blocking some punches.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. John is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. John has been the more effective fighter overall so far. LN prevents a body shot from John. John blocks an uppercut.

LN has a couple of punches blocked by John.
John wants the takedown. LN is fighting it off but John persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in LN's guard against the cage. LN trying to control the position.
LN bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in John's guard. LN trying to control the position from guard on top but John is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. John had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. LN defends it easily. John has his foot on LN's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. LN works his way back into a safe position though. John isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. LN stacks John on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by LN!

That's three minutes gone in the round. LN is trying to control the action in half guard but John is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. John is trying to control but LN manages to pass to mount!
John is trying desperately to improve position. John wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by LN.
John manages to regain half guard. Good work. LN is keen to just control but John is a slippery customer. John trying to control from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. John looking for submissions off his back. LN wants to control but John is keeping him busy. John is trying to control but can't.
Still in half guard, LN seems content to control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. LN throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent John stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Chris John will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
John throws a right and a left that both miss. LN attempts a counter takedown but John avoids it well and moves away. A swing and a miss from LN. LN throws a looping overhand right but John ducks down to avoid it. John displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as LN throws out the jab. John rushes LN and presses him up against the cage. John is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but LN is defending well. John is trying to force a seperation but LN has the dominant position. John has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. LN is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. LN throws a punch but it's blocked by John. LN is fighting off a takedown attempt but John is just too persistent for him and manages to trip LN to the mat. LN regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. LN manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. John manages to get himself to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. John actively working from the bottom here. John takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. LN is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. LN is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. LN prevents John from improving his position. John is trying to maintain the position but LN is very close to passing his half guard. Lvn LN has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! John has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. John looks like he's trying to stand up.
Lvn LN overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. LN controlling the action here. John wants to improve his position but LN is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. John had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. LN defends it easily. LN stands and throws John's legs to the side, diving into side control. LN controlling the position. John is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. LN is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and John defends it well. Chris John is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. LN performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

John is not content to let LN control the position. LN is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but John is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! John is trying to control LN's posture but LN avoids it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Heggie misses with a leg kick and Cain counters with a nice uppercut. Heggie thows a leg kick but Cain checks it and Cain counters with a good low kick that Heggie was not able to check. Cain throws a nice inside leg kick. Cain uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Heggie. Cain ducks under a wild hook from Heggie. Cain looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Heggie tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Cain is able to avoid easily. Cain scores with a nice body kick.
Heggie misses with an uppercut. Cain saw that one coming. Cain feinted there with a counter leg kick. Nice defenses there by Cain. Heggie slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. We've been informed that Heggie has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Cain digs a good body shot into Heggie's ribs. Heggie darts in trying to clinch and Cain counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Cain, right into the meat.

Heggie throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cain sees it coming and avoids it easily. It looked like Cain wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Cain lands a nice leg kick that just misses Heggie's sensitive parts. Cain swings for the body but Heggie moves out of range.

and King counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. King swings for the body but Messiah moves out of range.

King tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Messiah takes a swing at King's ribcage but misses. A kick lands to the mid section there for Messiah. King tries to bum rush Messiah with a series of wild strikes but Messiah uses good footwork to avoid the assault. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Messiah! But no joy. Messiah throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

King steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Messiah. That one must have hurt. King lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
King tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Messiah manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Messiah feints a counter leg kick. Messiah connects with an inside leg kick. Messiah throws a leg kick which misses King's front leg but catches the back leg as King tries to avoid it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. King wants to clinch up but Messiah keeps it at a distance. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Messiah! But no joy. King jabbing away but nothing is landing. Messiah avoids a punch combination nicely.

A nice inside leg kick there by Messiah. That's going to slow King down. King throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

King takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
King pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. King needs to keep his hands up - Messiah had a free shot at his head there. King is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. King takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

King is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Messiah keeps the fight on the outside. No joy there for King, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Messiah has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. King scores with a sloppy right hand. Messiah should have avoided that one. Messiah shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. King lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. King checks a low kick from Messiah. King is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. King pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Messiah thinks about the counter body kick. Messiah lands a high kick!
King has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Messiah. It looks like King has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Messiah feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kings jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. King swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Petrie connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hudson's hands. A swing and a miss from Hudson. Petrie on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Petrie throws a series of punches but Hudson moves out of range. Petrie takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hudson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Petrie looks to land a combination but Hudson avoids it well. Hudson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hudson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Hudson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hudson tries to clinch up but Petrie circles away and keeps his distance. Hudson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Petrie moves in looking to clinch but Hudson pushes him off. Hudson throws a body kick that misses and Petrie counters with a stiff right hand. Hudson misses with a head kick.
Petrie swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Hudson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Petrie.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hudson throws a shot from downtown. Petrie moves away and avoids it. Petrie slips under a jab. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Petrie, as that shot connected.
Hudson fails with an attempt to clinch.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Petrie! Hudson is backing up but he can't get away as Petrie lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Hudson and ends the fight. Great knockout.

High seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. High steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Quinn. A jab from Quinn misses. High goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Joe Quinn has been cut. High throws a body kick that misses letting Quinn counter with a right hand. Thud! ouch! good body kick from High - that will leave a mark!
Phil High seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. High dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Quinn. That did some damage! High scores with a kick to the body.
Quinn looks winded! High feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Quinn's calf.

High thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Quinn if he has to take too many more of those.
Quinn takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
High throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. High cracks the inside of Quinn's front leg. High fakes the leg kick and cracks Quinn in the body. High scores with a nice right hand.

High looks to score with a jab to the body but Quinn is just out of range. High fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Quinn has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Quinn takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Quinn connects with a body shot that sends High's belly button to the back. Quinn walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. High moves out of range of the leg kick from Quinn. It looked like High was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. A combination from Quinn does no damage. High fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Quinn looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. High lands with a nice body punch. High scores with a jab to the body. Nice uppercut lands for High. That snapped Quinn's head back.
Quinn wants to stay close but High steps back to make room for something. Quinn seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from High and Quinn drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown but Angelov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jackson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Angelov counters with a body kick. Jackson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Angelov tries to close the distance and clinch but Jackson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jackson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Angelov throws a quick inside leg kick. Angelov lands with a kick to the temple. Jackson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Snake Jackson has been cut. Angelov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Angelov lands with a big right hook that stumbles Jackson - he's out on his feet here! Angelov follows up with another monster hook that separates Jackson from consciousness! Jackson falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Angelov stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Carpenter has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Carpenter gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Okunaba counters with a nice right hand that sends Carpenter toppling to the canvas! Carpenter scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Okunaba finish him?!
