15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Stirling! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kuoppala pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Stirling back to the cage. Kuoppala follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Kuoppala misses with a straight left. Kuoppala uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stirling.
A jab lands there for Stirling. Stirling ducks under a wild hook from Kuoppala. A little jabbing left from Stirling on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Stirling closes the distance and pushes Kuoppala back into the cage. Stirling blocks the elbow strike.

Stirling wants to counter with a clinch but Kuoppala pushes him away. Kuoppala loads up on a big right hand but Stirling slips the punch. It seemed like Stirling was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Stirling lands a nice looking kick to the body. Kuoppala takes a step back to recover. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kuoppala is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

That's one minute gone in the round. Stirling shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kuoppala as he jumps to the side. Stirling drops his hands momentarily and Kuoppala takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Stirling tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kuoppala manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Kuoppala is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Kuoppala misses with a looping right. Stirling staying out of range there. Stirling swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Stirling feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kuoppalas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Stirling shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kuoppala but Kuoppala pushes him off and we're back to square one. Alexander Kuoppala has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Stirling. Kuoppala loads up on a big right hand but Stirling slips the punch. Nice jab there from Stirling. Kuoppala tries to keep at a distance but Stirling has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kuoppala cracks Stirling with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Kuoppala misses with a straight right. Kuoppala missing with a left hand there. Stirling was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Stirling looks like he wants to counter punch here. Stirling goes for a double leg but Kuoppala avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kuoppala continues to drive forward. Kuoppala is looking to counter punch. Kuoppala tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stirling swats him away and circles back towards the center. A looping hook to the body misses from Stirling. Kuoppala does a little dance to reset his feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stirling misses with the combination.

Nice straight punches there by Stirling. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Stirling. Stirling shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kuoppala sprawls well. Kuoppala wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stirling gets slowly back to his feet. Stirling fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Stirling closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Stirling looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Stirling breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stirling feints and then cracks Kuoppala's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kuoppala down. Kuoppala throws a leg kick letting Stirling counter with a right hand. Stirling tries to clinch there but Kuoppala circles away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The fighters circling - Kazarian throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Anastasia is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Anastasia throws a sloppy head kick and Kazarian moves out of range easily. Anastasia seems to have recovered his senses. Anastasia misses with an attempted mid kick.

Kazarian is trying hard to land a takedown here. Anastasia sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Anastasia shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Kazarian regains full guard. Nicely done. Anastasia is sitting in close to Kazarian's body. Kazarian has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Anastasia is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Anastasia is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Kazarian.

Rick is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Rick letting Tomas take a breather here. Tomas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rick throws a lazy right hand but Tomas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Villars throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Salty's waist but Salty gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Villars off to one side. Salty misses with a wild combination.
Salty takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

and Salty counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Villars looks to land a body kick but Salty moved away. Villars misses with a hook to the body
and Salty counters with a three punch combo that has Villars backing up. Villars nods at Salty to acknowledge the strikes. Villars pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Salty throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Villars circles away from the clinch attempt and Villars counters with a nice uppercut. A looping hook to the body misses from Villars. Salty does a little dance to reset his feet. Villars misses with a straight right.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salty takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Salty lunges at Villars with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Villars's hand. Left hook, right uppercut from Salty. Villars looks to land a combination but Salty avoids it well. Villars scores with a shot to the body.
Villars will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Salty looks like he wants to counter punch here. Villars looks to score with a jab to the body but Salty is just out of range. Salty on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Villars shoots for a double leg takedown but Salty sprawls well. He's pushed Villars's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Salty takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Villars ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Salty moves away. Villars connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Villars lands with a good body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Villars moves into range and connects with a jab. Villars is looking to wear down Salty with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Villars lands a left and a right that send Salty crashing to the mat, dazed. Villars thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Salty is rocked! Villars and Salty are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Villars throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Salty into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Villars knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shields does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Shields lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Shields stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Binse. Shields slips a jab from Binse. Shields keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Binse. Shields keeps the fight on the outside. Binse scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Shields looks to score with a jab to the body but Binse is just out of range. Shields throws a body punch but Binse moves out of range. Binse moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Binse misses with a low kick.
Shields uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Binse.
Binse throws a series of punches but Shields avoids them all with ease. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Binse has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shields is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Binse is aware though and is defending well. Shields has control of Binse's left arm, preventing Binse from doing any damage. Binse throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Binse wants to control from the top but Shields keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shields has momentary wrist control but Binse slips an elbow through the middle. Binse with a nice head shot there. Shields controls Binse momentarily but Binse frees himself. Shields had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Binse defends it easily.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Binse works his way back into a safe position though. Binse postures up in Shields's guard and throws a big left but Shields blocks it. Shields has control of Binse's left arm, preventing Binse from doing any damage. Binse is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Binse throws a strike but Shields rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Shields connects with a couple of short punches. Shields trying to control but Binse is working from the bottom. Binse looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Binse wants to hit a switch here but Shields passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Binse there!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shields trying to control but Binse is having none of it. Binse is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Shields tries to control but Binse wriggling away. Shields unloads with some shots from mount but Binse bucks and avoids them well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Binse is trying to escape the mount.

A close round but Christopher Binse will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Binse misses with a body kick. Shields drops down looking for a counter takedown but Binse sprawls and moves away. Shields shoots in looking for a takedown. Binse tries to sprawl out of it but Shields keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Binse manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Binse appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Shields misses with a wild body shot. Binse fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Shields looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Shields keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Binse. It appears Shields was looking to counter with a kick there. Binse throws a right and a left that Shields avoids nicely. A momentary lapse in concentration from Shields enables Binse to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Shields manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Binse's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Shields is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Shields pulls Binse in to control the position. Binse is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Binse postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Shields has an active guard here but Binse has managed to pass into half guard.

Binse throwing shots but Shields is blocking nicely. Shields is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Binse missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Binse scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Shields is not content to let Binse control the position. Shields is trying to get back to full guard. Shields looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Binse doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Binse manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Shields wants to sweep here but Binse controlling him for the moment. Shields pushes a forearm under Binse's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Binse is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
