Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zoey Malone Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete McKallister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Malone Jr might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Who Let the Dogs Out. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malone Jr takes a swing at McKallister's ribcage but misses. Malone Jr throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malone Jr sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but McKallister is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. McKallister walks into a stiff left hand from Malone Jr. McKallister misses with a low kick. Malone Jr tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Malone Jr clinches up with McKallister and pushes him back against the cage. Malone Jr misses with a punch on the inside.

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McKallister swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Malone Jr. Malone Jr works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. McKallister keeps the fight on the outside. A big left from McKallister misses. Malone Jr lands with a nice body punch. McKallister tries to bum rush Malone Jr with a series of wild strikes but Malone Jr uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Malone Jr jabbing away but nothing is landing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Zoey Malone Jr will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Pete McKallister's cut. That's time! Malone Jr's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for McKallister! McKallister is trying to get back to his feet. Malone Jr throwing strikes but missing, from side control. McKallister is not content to let Malone Jr control the position. Malone Jr working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Malone Jr wants to take a breather but McKallister is having none of it. Malone Jr sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. McKallister defending well though. Malone Jr takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Malone Jr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McKallister's head. Malone Jr wants to control but McKallister is keeping him busy.

Poor timing from Malone Jr. Malone Jr on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. McKallister connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Malone Jr takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Malone Jr shoots in looking for a takedown but McKallister manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Malone Jr's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Malone Jr throws a body punch but McKallister moves out of range. McKallister tries a head kick but it misses.
Malone Jr moves in looking to clinch but McKallister pushes him off. McKallister looks to land a body kick but Malone Jr moved away. McKallister throws out a leg kick but Malone Jr moves out of range and McKallister only half commits. A little feinted left hand from Malone Jr on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. McKallister is looking to slow Malone Jr down with leg kicks. Malone Jr throws an off balance right hand
and McKallister counters with an outside leg kick.
Malone Jr fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McKallister manages to avoid it. Malone Jr throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McKallister. Malone Jr checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. A looping hook to the body misses from Malone Jr. McKallister does a little dance to reset his feet. Malone Jr tries to clinch but McKallister is having none of it. McKallister attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Malone Jr tries to close the distance and clinch but McKallister swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. McKallister misses with an uppercut. Malone Jr saw that one coming.

Malone Jr takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Malone Jr closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. McKallister regains half guard there - taking advantage of Malone Jr's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Malone Jr thows a huge punch but McKallister dodges it nicely.

Malone Jr is looking to work some ground and pound but McKallister has wrist control. Malone Jr looking to sit in guard and control but McKallister gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. McKallister would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Malone Jr manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Malone Jr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Malone Jr thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Malone Jr is trying to control the action in half guard but McKallister is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Malone Jr wants to advance to full mount but McKallister doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Malone Jr throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Malone Jr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aguilar gets tackled into the cage by Chi Min. Chi Min maintains the clinch. Aguilar pulls guard. Aguilar has his foot on Chi Min's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chi Min works his way back into a safe position though. Aguilar looking to control.
Chi Min trying to control but Aguilar is working from the bottom. Chi Min controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aguilar has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Chi Min is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Aguilar. Aguilar tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Chi Min presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malia fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rutten manages to avoid it. A kick lands to the mid section there for Rutten. Malia digs a good body shot into Rutten's ribs. Malia misses with a straight right. Malia connects with a body shot. Malia swings and misses with a shot to the body and Rutten counters with a nice low kick that buckles Malia's knee momentarily. Malia misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Rutten cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Malia pushing out the jab but it's not landing. We've been told by Malia's head coaches at Fighting Fitness & Freedom that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. The crowd cheers as Rutten lands an impressive looking overhand right. Malia doesn't seem phased though. Malia throws a body shot but no joy. Rutten takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jonathon shoots in and drives through. Hallava sprawls well. Jonathon shoots for a takedown but Hallava saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A slapping leg kick lands for Hallava.
Nice shot lands for Hallava. Hallava tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jonathon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Hallava throws a sloppy head kick and Jonathon moves out of range easily. No luck for Jonathon with that takedown attempt. Julle Hallava has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Jonathon. Jonathon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hallava swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jonathon drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hallava pulls his leg out and moves away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hallava tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Jonathon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Jonathon tries to clinch but Hallava is having none of it. Hallava scores with a decent looking hook. Jonathon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hallava, pushing him back against the cage. Jonathon has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Hallava seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Jonathon can turn it around.

Jonathon is trying to drag Hallava to the mat but Hallava just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Jonathon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Hallava tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jonathon paws at him with a jab and circles away. Jonathon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jonathon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Jonathon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hallava has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hallava tries to bench press Jonathon off him but Jonathon keeps the position. Jonathon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Hallava is not content to let Jonathon control the position. Hallava sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Julle Hallava dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hallava stuffs the takedown attempt from Jonathon. Jonathon gets slowly back to his feet. Hallava feinted there with a counter leg kick. Jonathon fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Jonathon wants to clinch. Hallava tries to counter by clinching up but Jonathon breaks away and moves out of range. Hallava fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jonathon on the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jonathon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hallava. Hallava loads up on a big right hand but Jonathon slips the punch. Jonathon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hallava is looking to counter punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hallava stuffs the takedown attempt from Jonathon. Jonathon gets slowly back to his feet. Julle Hallava has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Jonathon. That kick from Hallava tenderised Jonathon's leg. Jonathon is trying to keep his angry face on. Hallava tries a head kick but it misses.
Jonathon with the counter takedown but Hallava avoids it easily. Jonathon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hallava is fending him off so far but Jonathon persists. Nope, Hallava circles away and we're back to standing. Hallava displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jonathon. Jonathon shoots in for a takedown but Hallava shows good takedown defense. Hallava cracks Jonathon with an open hand slap. Jonathon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hallava counters with a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hallava misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jonathon fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jonathon fails with the takedown. A big right from Hallava misses. Hallava cracks Jonathon with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Hallava has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Jonathon to stand back up!
Jonathon is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hallava ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Jonathon's jaw. Jonathon's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Hallava does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
