Koko has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Koko finds Crusoe's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Crusoe flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Koko lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Crusoe will be OK.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mamba ducks under a wild hook from Garfunkel.
Mamba throws a hook but Garfunkel avoids it easily.
Garfunkel tries to clinch up but Mamba circles away and keeps his distance.
Mamba was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Garfunkel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Garfunkel showed some decent athleticism there.
Mamba really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Garfunkel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Garfunkel takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mamba can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mamba has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Garfunkel is working away from the top position though.

Mamba got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garfunkel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mamba has managed to get both his arms back between Garfunkel's legs - danger averted.
