The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Doobie misses

so Beton counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Doobie looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Beton is pushing down on Doobie's leg trying to pass to half guard. Doobie is fighting to maintain full guard but Beton has managed to sneak the leg through.

Beton is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Beton passes to side control.

Beton has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Doobie is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Beton yanks on the arm and Doobie is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Beton.

Chabada throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chabada fails with a takedown attempt.
Omega tried to counter with a leg kick but Chabada avoided it.
Omega fails with the takedown.
Omega misses with a body kick.
Omega lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Chabada backs up against the ropes.

It looks like Kellen Chabada has been cut.

Omega scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chabada sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Omega thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chabada's head.

Omega shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Chabada is trying to defend but Omega finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Chabada tries to lock up and control but Omega gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Omega wants to take a breather but Chabada is having none of it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Omega in particular looking to stall.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chabada can do anything to dispel that myth.

Omega seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chabada does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Omega lands a nice looking body kick.
Omega throws a nice looking combination but Chabada bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Omega is looking to take a break and control but Chabada is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Omega is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Chabada is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Omega wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chabada keeps working.

Chabada trying to keep a closed guard but Omega is proving a slippery customer.
Omega chips away with some ground and pound.
Omega wants to control from the top but Chabada keeps moving.

Omega fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Chabada has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Chabada avoids the head kick by Omega.
Chabada avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Omega throws a series of punches but Chabada avoids them all with ease.
Chabada moves in looking to clinch but Omega pushes him off.

Omega closes the distance and clinches.

Omega gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Chabada.
Omega fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Omega stops a takedown attempt from Chabada.
Omega is looking to control Chabada's arms but Chabada gets an underhook and turns him. Now Omega has his back to the ropes.

Omega turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Omega manages to end up in side control.
Chabada is trying to get back to half guard.

Omega stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Omega is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Chabada!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Omega is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Aliv goes for a double leg but Sunderland avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Sunderland continues to drive forward.
Sunderland has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA New York in the buildup to the fight.
Aliv looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Sunderland, right into the meat.
Aliv has his takedown stuffed

and Sunderland moves into the clinch.
Aliv tries to circle away but Sunderland has him pinned against the ropes.

Sunderland breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A nice inside leg kick there by Sunderland. That's going to slow Aliv down.
Sunderland feints a jab promting Aliv to slip. Sunderland then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Aliv slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Aliv takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Aliv is looking to clinch.
Sunderland connects with a high kick.

Sunderland throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Twine takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Belfort has taken the fight to the clinch.

Belfort turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Twine can't do much from the bottom here.
