Battistoni's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Yamada connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Battistoni scrambles back to his feet.

Oh Shark is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shark walks straight into a right hand from Gun - that's dropped him! Gun jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Shark from any more punishment! Shark complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

After the fight, Machine Gun was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Shamrock!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shamrock tries to clinch but Carroll is having none of it.

Carroll swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Carroll fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Shamrock has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Carroll jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

Shamrock closes the distance and pushes Carroll back into the cage.

A nice right hand lands inside from Carroll.
Shamrock tries to work over Carroll's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Carroll swings wildly with an uppercut but Shamrock uses good head movement to avoid it.

Carroll digs a right hand underneath Shamrock's ribcage. Shamrock let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Shamrock has a couple of punches blocked by Carroll.

Carroll lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Carroll swings wildly with an uppercut but Shamrock uses good head movement to avoid it.

Carroll pushes Shamrock back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Carroll misses with a hook from the clinch.
Carroll swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Shamrock tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Carroll's elbow.
Shamrock digs a right hand underneath Carroll's ribcage. Carroll let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Shamrock misses with a punch on the inside.

Carroll breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shamrock tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Carroll feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Shamrock sprawling to the canvas! Shamrock rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Carroll finish him?!

Shamrock is rocked!
Shamrock walks straight into a right hand from Carroll - that's dropped him! Carroll jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Shamrock from any more punishment! Shamrock complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Andy Carroll!

Andy Carroll spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
