On his way into the cage it seems that Lance Spencer has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Lance Spencer seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, wu xu! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spencer is trying hard to land a takedown here. xu sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. xu is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Spencer shoots for a double leg takedown but xu sprawls well. He's pushed Spencer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. xu throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Spencer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. xu is in Spencer's guard. xu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Spencer is keeping the position for now. xu in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Spencer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and xu defends well. Spencer is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - xu has eaten all the pies! xu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. xu preventing the sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spencer is working an open guard so xu takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Nice takedown defense from Spencer. No joy for xu on that attempt. xu fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Spencer fails with a takedown attempt. xu drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Spencer defends it well. Spencer is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. xu works his way into full mount! xu is standing up, even though he is in mount.

xu feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. xu works a leg free and moves into half guard. Spencer wants to get back to full guard. xu wants to work for an arm triangle but Spencer is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

xu has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Spencer avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Spencer is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Spencer misses with a knee strike.

xu is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Spencer has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. This has been an exciting period of action! xu preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Spencer.

Spencer looking to break xu's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. xu remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Spencer will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! xu is trying to stand back up. Spencer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Spencer has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, xu has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Spencer is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. xu defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. xu turns into Spencer and is now in his guard.

Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! xu is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, xu is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Spencer.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva looks to throw the jab but Book is out of range. Book tries to counter with a takedown but Silva is quick to defend against it. Book keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Silva throws the left hand but Book avoids the punch easily. A telegraphed right hand from Silva misses the target. Silva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Silva prevents Book from improving his position. Silva is looking to advance position but Book won't allow it. Book is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Silva's back! Silva trying to control the hands but Book won't let him. Silva fending off the submission attempt from Book. Silva rolls, trying to escape but Book keeps control of the position.

Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Book keeps working. Silva tries for a kimura but Book is defending well. Silva taking a breather here. Silva gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kriel closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Diet lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Kriel. A quick uppercut on the inside from Diet. A nice left hand lands by Diet.

Kriel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Kriel looks winded! Diet lands an uppercut. Diet lands a body shot. Diet lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kriel backwards. Diet lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Kriel or not. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Diet lands with a short shot to the head. Diet drops Kriel onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Kriel is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Kriel is rocked! Diet pushes Kriel against the cage and as Kriel bounces back, Diet cracks him with a massive overhand right that sends him crashing to the mat! Diet follows up with more strikes but Kriel was out from that first, devastating punch! Wow!

A very excited looking Wana Diet made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
