The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rehab checks a low kick from Gruber. Rehab steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Gruber. Gruber lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Rehab at a distance.
Gruber moves out of range of the strikes. Gruber tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rehab was well out of range. Poor timing from Gruber. Rehab avoids the body shot from Gruber.

Gruber has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cena gets tackled into the cage by Jyllendael. Jyllendael maintains the clinch. Jyllendael drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cena pulls his leg out and moves away.

Cena prevents a body shot from Jyllendael. Jyllendael told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Jyllendael misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Cena.
Cena pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cena throws a leg kick which misses Jyllendael's front leg but catches the back leg as Jyllendael tries to avoid it. Cena throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jyllendael's head. Cena circles away from the clinch attempt.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bear paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Sloppy strikes from Smudge. Those never looked like landing. Bear connects with a body shot. Bear connects with a leg kick. Smudge looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Smudge takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Smudge throws an overhand right that lands on Bear's shoulder, as Bear tries to avoid the shot. Smudge throws a right hand that Bear ducks under and follows up with a left that Bear also avoids with ease. Bear closes the distance and lands a one-two. Bear lunges at Smudge with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Smudge's hand. A jab from Smudge misses. Bear throws a series of punches but Smudge avoids them all with ease. Smudge changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. This has been an exciting period of action! Smudge throws a hook but Bear avoids it easily. Bear is looking for a counter combo. Smudge waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bear. As Smudge looks to move away, Bear throws a big counter combo bu Smudge just gets out of the way. Bear tries to score with a low kick but Smudge moves his leg out of the way. Bear keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Smudge changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Jab, jab by Smudge - just one landing. Smudge takes one to the chin there. We've been told by Bear's head coaches at Death Valley Training Facility that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Bear has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Bear there as he acknowledges the shot. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Smudge shoots in and gets a takedown into Bear's guard. Smudge looking to pass the guard. Smudge with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Smudge stopping the sweep attempt from Bear. Bear is trying to keep Smudge in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smudge cracks Bear with a solid left hand. Smudge content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Bear bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smudge's guard. Bear in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Bear is looking to work some ground and pound but Smudge has wrist control.

Bear throws a strike but Smudge rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Bear keeping full guard, as Smudge tries to pass. Smudge works over Bear with some ground and pound from guard.
It looks like Jer Bear has been cut. Smudge won't allow Bear to sweep him here. Bear is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Bear lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Bear trying to control the action but Smudge is working from the bottom. Bear lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smudge is trying to get back to full guard. Bear throwing shots but Smudge is blocking nicely. Smudge is trying to get back to full guard. Bear stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Bear throws a right and a left that both miss. Bear tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Smudge throws a body shot but no joy. Bear fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Smudge looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Smudge gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Bear. Bear throws a head kick that Smudge semi-blocks.
Bear throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smudge. Bear displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Bear throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smudge drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Bear defends it well. Smudge misses with an uppercut. Bear saw that one coming. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bear misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smudge.

Smudge advances to half guard. Smudge is nestled in close to Bear, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Smudge working the head and body with strikes. Smudge takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Bear is looking for a sweep. Smudge is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bear is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smudge's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smudge's back! Bear missing with strikes from the back. Smudge manages to reverse the position and now he's in Bear's guard. Nice work there by Smudge.

Ochu defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Meyers. Ochu half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Meyers shoots in for a takedown but Ochu shows good takedown defense. Meyers looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Meyers closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Meyers is trying to control. Ochu wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Ochu has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Meyers is on him like a limpet, forcing Ochu back against the cage. Meyers tries to pull guard but Ochu forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Meyers drags the fight down to the ground.

Meyers isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Ochu stacks Meyers on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Ochu! Meyers wants to get back to his feet but Ochu is dominant here and he's now got Meyers's back! Meyers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ochu gets back to his feet - a bit of a stange decision given the position he was in. Charlie Meyers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ochu uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Meyers. Meyers will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ochu feinted with a counter takedown. Meyers tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ochu defends well and Meyers ends up having to push Ochu into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Ochu drops down looking for a counter takedown but Meyers sprawls and moves away. Maester Ochu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charlie Meyers. Meyers tries to clinch and Ochu counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Ochu tries to stand but can't do so whilst Meyers controls his leg. Meyers is looking for a sweep. Ochu is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ochu pushes down on Meyers's head and hops out. Ochu changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Meyers looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ochu attempts a counter takedown but Meyers avoids it well and moves away. Ochu keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice uppercut there from Pena. Gambino throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Pena misses with a head kick.
Gambino went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Gambino rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pena moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Javier Pena seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pena throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Pena misses with a left hand and Gambino makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Pena lands with a kick to the temple. Gambino shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Pena misses with a hook

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice inside leg kick there by Clendennon. That's going to slow Suti down. Suti fails with the takedown and Clendennon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A leg kick checked by Suti. Suti drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Clendennon defends it well. Clendennon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Suti.
