The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Nuts, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nuts scores with a jab to the body.
Sperry dodges the punch combination from Nuts.

Sperry shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Sperry landing with the ground and pound.
Sperry slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Let's hope that Sperry has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Nuts really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Sperry closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Nuts's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sperry working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Nuts turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Sperry off and cradles Nuts's limp body as Sperry celebrates with his corner.

I think Aldridge might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Smooth Criminal By Michael Jackson. Jonhson is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Jonhson hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
