Schwetty manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Schwetty throws a push kick but Surma slaps the foot to one side. Schwetty avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

41 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Boothe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
34 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Karol Cropp! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boothe throws a leg kick but Cropp sees it coming and moves out of range. Cropp missing with a left hand there. Boothe was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Boothe definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Boothe shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Cropp jabbing away but nothing is landing. Karol Cropp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cropp takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Boothe pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Boothe uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cropp. Boothe quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Boothe connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Cropp misses with an uppercut. Boothe saw that one coming. Boothe scores with a hook to the body. Cropp takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Cropp fails to land with a series of punches.
Boothe cracks Cropp with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Boothe takes a body punch but keeps moving. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Boothe connects with a single shot there. Boothe lands a right hook to the body.
Cropp closes the distance and clinches. Cropp has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Boothe clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Boothe is really stuck here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Despite being in a bad position, Boothe is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts. Cropp landing with strikes. Boothe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Cropp punches the canvas rather than the man. Cropp misses with an elbow to the head. Boothe covering up well under a barage of strikes. Cropp is punishing Boothe with strikes - can he finish him?! Cropp has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cropp gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Cropp is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Boothe up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cropp is landing with strikes. Boothe can't take much more of this. Cropp struggling to land strikes to the head as Boothe covers up. Cropp landing with strikes.
Boothe is rocked! Cropp throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Boothe has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Cropp. Cropp throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Boothe!
Cropp is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Boothe has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Boothe is trying to remain composed but Cropp is hammering down strikes to the side of his head. Boothe can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cropp lands a shot to the head. Oh Boothe is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Cropp is loading up with his shots from the back and Boothe is in big trouble! Boothe taps out to strikes and the fight is over!

Slade tries to land a front kick but Slinga steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Slinga works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Slinga scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Slinga takes a swing at Slade's ribcage but misses. Slade is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Slinga has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Slade is landing a low percentage of strikes. Slade looks to land a body kick but Slinga moved away. Slade throws a sloppy head kick and Slinga finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Slade throws a head kick but Slinga moves out of range.

Slinga lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Slinga has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Slinga feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Slades jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Slade throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Slinga sees it coming and avoids it easily. Slade misses with a body kick. Slinga moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Nice defenses there by Slinga. Slinga scores with a jab to the jaw. This has been an exciting period of action! A slow jab from Slade misses its intended target.

Slinga misses the shot to the body. Nice body punch from Slinga. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Slinga rushes Slade and presses him up against the cage. Slade holding his opponent close, against the cage.
